Five dead in latest US shooting near Seattle Washington
POLICE say five people are dead in a shooting at an apartment complex south of Seattle, including a suspect who was shot by officers responding to the chaotic scene.
Police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock says officers responded to a 2130 (1709 AEST) Sunday emergency call in Federal Way of shots being fired.
Arriving police spotted two men on the ground in a parking lot and one of them reached for a gun as the officers moved in to assist them.
Schrock says officers then opened fire. The man was killed but it wasn't immediately clear if it was from police gunfire.
The other man on the ground and another man in the parking lot were found to be dead.
In a search of the complex, police found yet another man dead in one apartment and a slain woman in another.
There was no immediate word what set off the gunfire.

So this story boggles my mind. A 27year old male with a "history of Domestic Violence." Has a CCW and kills 5 people.
Umm did we not just talk about up holding laws that are already on the books before we start adding laws? I'm just saying.

if he has a history of Domestic Violence HTF did he get a licence or keep it
over here Domestic Violence charges = no licence or bye bye guns you own...

This will be used by the Anti-gun crowd to harass CCW holders. I had my Washington State CCW 15 years ago, when I lived there, and it was easy to get no training just a background check. Not sure if that has changed since but I'm sure it will now.

It's the same here Phil, or at least it's supposed to be. But forget the CCW for a moment. If you have been convicted of a misdemeanor charge of domestic violence, you cannot legally purchase a firearm. Unless of course you outright lie on the 4473 form. Even then the Instacheck System should kick the purchase. This should not have happened with the laws currently in place under the Brady statutes. Which was their end all, cure all when the Clinton led Democrats passed it. It just goes to show the overall ineffectiveness of gun control laws. Current or future.
As far has him being issued a CCW, where was the FBI when he sent in his finger prints? They should have for sure kicked it. Alarm bells and red flags should have been seen everywhere. He would have had the domestic violence charge filed after conviction, long before he went postal. Yet even more failure within the system already in place. La Pierre and the NRA should be all over this like stink on dog crap!

maybe he had a friend get it for him. The last sherrif of sacramento county only issued ccws to his friends, out of the 7 he issued 4 were prohibited from owning guns, let alone ccw.

From the ABC news link:
a 27-year-old man with a history of domestic violence
The suspect had no previous criminal record
------------------------------
History of DV but no criminal record. Which is it??
The only way I know of to "have a history or domestic violence" and "no criminal record" is to be found innocent of the charges...which is kind of the same thing as NO history of DV.

There is no mention in the article of a CCW permit.
"He had permits for the weapons, Wilson said" is the only thing said about any permit. Kinda hard to CCW a Mossy 500.
