Title: "Guntucky"
Post by: billt on April 24, 2013, 07:55:21 AM
Has anyone seen this show? It debuted on CMT, (Country Music Channel), a week or so ago. It's based on the family that owns the Knob Creek Shooting Range, and gun shop adjacent to it. It's patterned after the "Sons Of Guns" show, and the girl in it is even named Stephanie. They shoot and blow up stuff, buy and sell guns, etc. I think they've only shown a couple of episodes thus far. In the next couple of weeks they are showing 2 new ones. They are rebroadcasting the first 2 several times in the next couple of weeks. So if you want to see it check your local listings. I'll give credit to CMT for running it, when so many other cable stations are running away from gun shows. Nice to see a network with some balls.

I recall someone on here has worked at Knob Creek and said that most of the people in the TV show aren't real employees.  Other than that I haven't seen it and don't know if I will-Reality TV jumped the shark many moons ago for me, I don't even watch Survivor anymore (although I did watch the end of last week to watch Phillip get booted  ;D )

I watched the first two shows and don't plan on watching any more.  It is plain corny and makes them out to be a bunch of red necks.
It is Gunman that works there.

I work there.  None of us that actually work there (except for Kenny, who owns the place) where in it.  Kenny is the real guy that runs KCR.  Steven works at the electric company!  But, it is about the Sumners, and at least they didn't give them different names!  What really bothers me is we are already getting phone calls from people wanting to blow stuff up.  We don't really do that, except during the machine gun shoot of course.  Every nut in the country will be calling us now.

I don't think too many take these type of shows seriously. They are what they are, "reality" entertainment, with guns incorporated into the overall scheme of things. We all watched the A-Team the same way, but none of us actually tried to call them to get us out of a jam. The ones who actually did, need to get out more and breath some fresh air!

Gunman, where you there for any of the filming?

Yeah, I was there through it all, at least the filming they did in the store during regular hours.  They did a couple scenes with me, but I don't know if they will use it or not.

Funny story, Flem, from Sons of Guns, has been to the last two machine gun shoots we have had.

They showed me, very briefly, shooting a GP100 on the firing line on one of the episodes Sunday.  It was my day off!

I Tivo'ed the last 2 new episodes. One is supposedly about the girls new boyfriend not being involved in the shooting sports, and I forget what the other is about. Which one are you in? I'll be sure to watch for you.

Stephanie is walking down the firing line with some dude asking her to give him free range time.  They show me shooting a GP100, big (fat) dude with a goatee.

Watching an episode with the nutty prepper guy.  The little "info" blurb at the bottom of the screen says "The Smith & Wesson 500 is a double action revolver, able to fire multiple rounds with one pull of the trigger."  I kid you not.

Someone with pull involved in the show needs to make sure who ever is responsible for broadcasting that lie is fired.

I didn't catch that, but when Kenny said the 1886 Winchester was the first repeating rifle I almost crapped myself.
