One MORE reason she/we should have a firearm....
"Can You Just Ask Him To Go Away?"

JOSEPHINE COUNTY, Ore. (CBS Seattle) — An Oregon woman was told by a 911 dispatcher that authorities wouldn’t be able to help her as her ex-boyfriend broke into her place because of budget cuts.
Oregon Public Radio reports that an unidentified woman called 911 during a weekend in August 2012 while Michael Bellah was breaking into her place. Her call was forwarded to Oregon State Police because of lay-offs at the Josephine County Sheriff’s Office only allows the department to be open Monday through Friday.
“Uh, I don’t have anybody to send out there,” the 911 dispatcher told the woman. “You know, obviously, if he comes inside the residence and assaults you, can you ask him to go away? Do you know if he’s intoxicated or anything?”
The woman told the dispatcher that Bellah previously attacked her and left her hospitalized a few weeks prior to the latest incident. The dispatcher stayed on the phone with the woman for more than 10 minutes before the sexual assault took place.
“Once again it’s unfortunate you guys don’t have any law enforcement out there,” the dispatcher said, according to Oregon Public Radio.
The woman responded: “Yeah, it doesn’t matter, if he gets in the house I’m done.”
Police say Bellah choked the woman and sexually assaulted her. He was arrested by Oregon State Police following the incident.
“There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t have another victim,” Josephine County Sheriff Gil Gilberson told Oregon Public Radio. “If you don’t pay the bill, you don’t get the service.”
The sheriff’s department had to cut 23 deputies and the entire major crimes unit after it lost a multi-million dollar federal subsidy, according to Oregon Public Radio. There are now only six deputies left.
The sheriff’s department even put out a press release warning domestic violence victims to “consider relocating to an area with adequate law enforcement services.”
Bellah pleaded guilty to kidnapping, sex abuse and assault.

Actually I think Ore DOES allow most of that stuff.
-
But according to you we have to many cops on the street, which is it?
-
It really has never been within the established duties of the police to actually stop a crime from taking place.
They are there to investigate the results of said crime and then find the perp, take the evidence, present their case (through the prosecutor's office) and get the bad guy thrown in jail.
If someone wants a crime to be interrupted as it occurs, get a gun. Learn how to use it. Offer yourself protection.
It's been said often, when seconds count, the cops are only minutes away.
Otherwise, be content with being a victim.

Sounds like the victim failed to arm herself. Sheriffs in counties with budget issues have advised residents that response times were going to be long and to arm them selves. Self reliance used to be a given, and in some parts of the country (even the state) its still the norm, but with events like Hurricane Katrina the sheeple died waiting for the .gov to take care of them.
I'd rather go to my grave having had a gun at all times and not need than to die because I needed a gun and didn't have it.

If you are not willing to take actions to protect yourself why should any one else put down their donut and do it for you ?Doesn't this go straight to the heart of "conservative" thought ?
Personal responsibility is your own problem .
Getting raped and beaten is a rough way to learn that but it's better than the murder she was asking for by not arming herself after the previous attack.

They draw chalk lines really well, and can get the yellow POLICE ribbon up very smartly. But they are reactionary. Not the militarized special teams like we saw in Boston, but the local LEO's show up or are called "after" an event, or while one is occurring.
WWTS? (What Would Ted Say):
I wish she would have pulled out her .38 and shot the bastard 5 times. Maybe I'm wierd. Hopefully she has been enlightened, and learned the reality of what crusader posted.

Was thinking about that and it came to me that it really might help one aspect of all this if there were zero cops on the street (not that I am saying that is the way to go). If there were no cops to call, everyone who was capable of rudimentary logical thought would realize it was up to them to protect themselves.
But other than that, it really doesn't matter too much how may cops there are on the street, it is what they do that matters.
Do they honor and uphold the rights of citizens or do they trod on them?
Can't have too many of the former and can't have too few of the later.

I recall a story Michael told a while back about a nurse friend of hers that was attacked on her way out to her car. The last thing the scum bag ever said was, "that's not fair" when she pulled out her handgun a shot him-DRT.

This is the difference between "them" and "us".
We want the 911 caller to say "this crazy a$$hole broke into my house to rape me and I shot him until he was not a threat anymore."
They want to federal funding for abortions so that when pissing herself doesn't work, she can have an abortion because she had no means of defending herself when the aforementioned crazy a$$hole broke in and raped her.
I will never understand how taking this is taking a more intellectual, morally sound position.
-
They couldn't/wouldn't defend her. So, I think under tort law she should be entitled to restitution. In lieu of money, she should recieve, at the SO's expense, a Joe Biden approved shotgun. She should then get a free pass to shoot the rapist and one office holding politician of her choice. That seems fair to me. ;D

That is not the actual goal of this.
The real goal is that, if citizens are conditioned to remain peaceful and obedient while being raped and/or beaten-robbed, they will also be peaceful and obedient, by conditioning, during similar government actions.

That sounds fair, but they should put a door between them so they can stay true to Uncle Joe's words of wisdom.
I'm totally fine if the door they choose is a screen door.

Solus is right.
If a citizen won't do anything more aggressive than pee, puke, or die when getting a d!ck shoved in their a*s how much fight will they put up when the Gov shoves ObamaCare up their a*s ?

I also noticed some almost humorous relations here....the government wants you to pee yourself and get sick and vomit when faced with a threat..... a stereotypical cowards reactions...and they are selling it as recommended default behavior....
