45 Long Colt 250 gr JHP 4,000 rounds (This caliber weapon is not issued to any branch of gov't.)
45 ACP 230 gr JHP 20,000 rounds
22 long rifle 40,000 rounds (This caliber weapon is not issued to any branch of gov't.)
30-30 160gr 4,680 rounds (This caliber rifle is not issued to any branch of gov't.)
12 Ga #8 shot 20,000 rounds
410 Ga # 9 shot 10,000 rounds (This gauge shotgun is not issued to any branch of gov't.)
357 180 gr JHP 6,000 rounds
7.69 X 39 (must be a typo should have been 7.62X 39 123 gr 5,000 rounds) This round is for an AK-47. Does DHS have AK 47's now?

Might be to familiarize non shooters with guns other than their issue pistol so they lower the number of ND's.
Most cops don't know anything but what they were issued, and don't know that very well.
Or, maybe some one at DHS is using the "company credit card" to stock up .
Look at the amounts, these would be impressive for an individual, (remember MB's pallet of ammo ?)
But they are nothing like the millions of rounds of service ammo they put out to bid not to long ago.
TW, 4 cases of 45 Colt isn't going to come anywhere near cornering the market .
Heck, they could pick that up at any larger gun store.

True and valid point,...even though .45 Colt pushes $1.00 a rd. Maybe it's just a spending spree with taxpayer money.. They can't help it, I'm sure "someone" will post a validation and genuine need for the DHS to get involved in these calibers.
It's either a truly noble cause, or for the children. But alas, I am merely a pleiaben in this fundamentally changed America.

well,they sure as hell won't be shooting at any SASS/CAS matches that I know of.They shoulld have read the rules before ordering the ammo,No Jacketed ammo allowed... ::) ::) ::)

That and SASS ammo is way downloaded compared to over the counter stuff.
