Assume every one of is hostile and treat us like dirt on the street. Yeah, that's a great idea and no way in hell will it come back to bite you in the ass. After all, we're the forgive and forget type, just ask Tom. ;D

Reading that article made me think of the quote from James Mattis (http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/James_Mattis):

Quote
Be polite, be professional, but have a plan to kill everybody you meet.

It is not unheard of for criminals to dress as and impersonate police officers.

When dealing with anyone dressed in a police officers uniform, consider them a deadly threat and be ready to protect yourself.

Constantly observe them for signs of a threat and do not let them get behind you, restrain or confine you in any manner and, especially, do not let them disarm you.  Strongly resist any attempts they might make to disarm you.

Do not relax your guard until they have left the area

Sitting in a aseptic clean room, that quote popped into my head (yes it was a bad day at the end of 3 days at a customer's site) and I started with the guy to my left (may have been a reason for that  ;D ) and worked my way around.  It's scary how easy it was to "profile" people and come up with such a plan to deal with their strengths or exploit their weaknesses.  Made my afternoon a bit more cheery... ;D

Every time I think of "cops searching for concealed firearms" I think of this:

Doh! "What do you mean you didn't search him?"
"What, I thought you searched him"?
I only do it on Wednesdays and Fridays, remember that bet you lost"?
"Oh, right, but still what do we say"?
"Well, it was a 1911, and we all know they're unsafe rust buckets. An ND caused by archaic technology"?
"Yep. That'll work". ;D
