DIES IN ITALY
Breaking News

James Gandolfini -- who famously played Tony Soprano on "The Sopranos" -- died earlier today in Italy ... TMZ has learned.
Gandolfini is believed to have suffered a heart attack. He was 51.
Gandolfini was in Italy to attend the 59th Taormina Film Festival in Sicily -- and he was scheduled to participate in a festival event this weekend with Italian director Gabriele Muccino.
Gandolfini shot to fame playing a hitman in the 1993 hit "True Romance" ... and quickly became a Hollywood legend when he was cast as Tony Soprano in 1999. He won 3 Emmy awards for the role during the show's 6 season run.
Gandolfini also appeared in a ton of huge movies including "Get Shorty," "The Mexican" and "Zero Dark Thirty."
We last spoke to Gandolfini in May in L.A. -- he was in great spirits, making funny faces and joking about a "Sopranos" movie.
Gandolfini is survived by his wife Deborah Lin, who gave birth to the couple's daughter in October 2012. He also has a teenage son from a previous marriage. R.I.P.

That stinks.
A " haht" attack ? Go figuh .
-
I'll bet he was all clogged up, much like the sales pitch guy Billy Mays. 51 is too young.

Just saw Gandolfini's last meal listed on Drudge: 2 orders of large, fried, king prawns; a large order of fois gras; four shots of rum; two pina coladas; and three beers.
While I am not inclined to "blame the victim," one would have to admit he was kinda askin' for it. I mean, while I love fried prawns, and fois gras, I try to space these sorts of indulgences over an extended period of time with a bit of regular cardio exercise thrown in for good measure. If this was indicative of his daily intake, he may have had a death wish.
I'm just sayin'...
Still, his Tony Soprano hit high marks, and his other work in film displayed great talent. H will be missed. R.I.P., James.

When you talk about heart attacks the ONLY place to put the blame is on the victim .
A heart attack is essentially the most pleasant form of suicide .
Any one offended by this comment can KMA .
I've had 3 .

Based on your definition and experience, Tom, you must be hard headed too.

not all heart attacks are self induced.

Hey. The only better way to go out than indulging in good rum, grilled prawns and Foie gras is spending an hour with your avatar. Either way I'd die happy. RIP brother, I liked your work and you died happy. What more could you want?

There you go, up side you die quick with an absolute minimum of suffering and lots of pleasant memories, down side, you get fat with lots of pleasant memories.
Sounds like a "win/win" to me. ;D
