Reading parts of that nearly made me ill.  As in vomit in my mouth a little bit.  Combinations of pseudo-factiods, emotion, and pure lies.

I haven't gotten to the link yet, but here's an example of how they twist things.

From Handgun Control, Inc. today.

Quote
"The extremist corporate gun lobby argues that our U.S. Constitution entitles vigilantes like George Zimmerman (and virtually anyone else) to carry loaded, hidden handguns in our communities."

Extremist
Corporate gun lobby
Vigilantes
"our" not "the" US Constitution.  Theirs not ours.

Wow.  Way to spin it Sarah.

Am having a problem getting through it without getting up and walking around the room.

It's very instructive as to how to counter from our side.

Page 13.  Always say "so you want MORE gun control."  "You want STRICTER gun control."  "Let's talk about factual research." (those wonky facts)  "This isn't an issue to let our personal emotions take over or to allow mob rule."

This document could be turned 180 and provide a blueprint for the pro-gun side.

I didn't read the whole thing but I read enough to see a lot of lies and made up facts. Disgusting.

Disgusting? Its absolutely brilliant! I used to do this for a living and I wish I was half that good. These guys earned every penny.
Note the themes.
Avoid logic.
Emphasize emotion and empathy.
Avoid the Constitution
Always bring it back to the safety they are promising, free for nothing. all you have to do is agree with them and you'll be safe. No personal responsibility involved.
Never blame your neighborhood NRA member, say instead they are dupes to be pitied, bamboozled by gun corporations.

So basically, you identify a problem (which is real), get everyone to feel bad about it, let that motivate them to action, but, wait, any qualms they have? Pay them no mind, because you're neighbor isn't your enemy, he's just been brainwashed. So you don't have to blame him, just go around him and discredit him.

It is a classic.

MY only question? WHY THE F@CK ISN'T THE NRA DOING THIS????????? >:(
What do I pay these people for? This is hardball folks. Get in the damn game!

It isn't that brilliant.
It is simply the tried and proven method of inciting a mob.
Use lots of emotion, simple imagery, and avoid facts like the plague.
It's like Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" it is just stating things that have worked over and over for others.
This is REAL Political Science, not that theoretical crap from Rousseau.
