my peeps on the 'inside' tell me good things. That the interview went well, and I'm just the kind of person they're looking for. Sent the obligatory email thanking them for their time, the interview and etc.
Now comes the waiting. I ain't real patient. If'n you could spare it, a few kind thoughts sent my way would be helpful.
Better company, more money, better hours, less stress. How much longer should I wait before phone contact again?
-
Good luck man!
Did they give you any indication of the time frames?

The man said he had to post a new position for an 'inside hire'. Then, the position I interviewed for would be open. ::)
-
You did send a handwritten thank you note after the interview?
Hope you do get it.

Strap on about 6 guns and just hang out in the office....they'll notice you have an intense interest.

You think inviting the hiring manager to a long range tactical rifle match would be too much?

fbg, my suggestion is find out what his area of expertise is and invite him to a shoot out for that. Give him the opportunity to teach you "new skills" and then suggest to him you'd like to reciprocate. Make him feel important, but show what your contributions to his company will be. Best of luck as I'm sure we are all pulling for you.

Good Idea. and google him/her and see what you find out.
As a matter of fact, it's would not be unlikely that they googled you already.

Hiring manager was a catcher in the Montreal Expo's farm system for 3 years. Prefers sales to what he does now. Wasn't able to discover what his hobbies were.
I'm sure they're doing a background check, credit check, BMV check, and would send me to a proctologist if they thought of it. The only google reference I've been able to find of me mentions that I was a pall bearor for an attorney. The attorney was dead before we buried him, and no, I didn't kill him.

I wonder how many points you will lose because of that ;D ;D

Prayer's sent. Good luck! :)
-
Good luck. I normally follow up on interviews between two to four weeks after the interview.
-
I sign the offer letter tomorrow. Along with drug screen and physical. My boss said he wants to slit his wrists. That would be 4 of us leaving in the last 6 weeks.

If he did maybe the company would quit losing employees.

Qualifier, my immediate manager is a good guy. Anyone further up the food chain tends to wear their asses for hats, or suffer from cranial rectal inversion syndrome. Koolaide drinkers one and all.

Congratulations, FBG...sounds like a nice move.
Take care.
-
congratulations. Hope this works out really well.

Could mean more money to spend on new to me firearms. ;D Have to sneak those past SWMBO

please, we all know every time you get a " raise" the wife gets a bigger cut, uncle sam gets a bigger cut and you end up with less. i know I worked jobs where I made less per hour in ot then i did in st, GT was about even with st.
-
I accepted the position today. Passed the DOT physical, will pass the drug screen and background check. Start new job, Sept. 9. ;D
Training is a $.50 an hour cut. ::) After that from $18.50 to $22 per hour, based on my productivity.

I'll still be hauling trash. Just for a different company. Longer commute, less stress. Shorter hours, more money (per hour). Enough to more than make up for the commute, and buy ammunition, firearms, reloading equipment, gunleather, drag bags, ammo pouches for magazines, range memberships, match fee's. You get the picture. And I'll have the time to actually do things after garden, lawn, firewood, work.
-
Congrats FBG.
Always nice when a change works out... Good Luck!

If I could figure a way to keep my job but work less days....
I'd put in a full 40+, just I'd love to have nights and weekends back.
-
Congratulations dude!!
And remember the official motto: "We men in garbage are always at your disposal!" ;D

Be careful what you wish for! I used to dream of the same. Now I work as many hours, have less freedom, and get half as much.

But at least you don't get called out at 3 am to pick somebody up off the highway using only a stick and a spoon.
