Title: Common Sense Gun Laws
Post by: Paraguy on August 17, 2013, 06:30:11 AM
It finally hit me, whenever the lefties say "common sense" gun laws what they really mean is "emotional" gun laws.  The former sounds better, but nobody who looks past the surface would ever call their common sense restrictions anything but emotional BS.  It is a good marketing move on their part, but whenever I hear them talk about common sense gun laws I know they really mean that guns are just scary to them and they do not want to admit that violence comes primarily from the breakdown of the family and mental illness, two issues they will not address with logic and, yes, common sense.

The left is all about wordsmithing.  The "progressive" universities and colleges are even using the term "non-consensual sex" now so they don't have to punish the "offenders" hardly at all.  Tell me again, who's got the "war on women?"

Common sense gun laws ?
How about mandatory safety and familiarization in school and if you can not prove you own a gun and have a job (retired counts) you do not vote.

how about the 4 rules of gun safety?   that should cover about 99% of it.

It's fabricated "Pier Pressure", like when the talking box tells you, as you sit alone in a room, that everybody thinks like the box does. It's laced with just enough guilt to leave an aftertaste..
Quite a recipe for those who don't know they're being fed a line of shit..
Sadly, folks tend to line up around the block to get fed a line of shit.. When folks aren't taught the ingredients, they don't know the difference between what was meant for food and what was meant for refuse..
What goes in is what comes out.. Voila!! A whole sewer full of people spouting shit and talking out their ass..

Separately, but along the same lines, I think we should see about introducing "Parrot Season" to the hunting schedule..
We could hunt the fields of the local School of Journalism, and School of Law.. If you sell it as filling tags, I'm sure some bureaucrat could package it so that the Legislatures would fit it in somewhere.. Ramble, ramble, ramble...  ::)

Push it as a REVENUE measure.
Hype the selling licenses and down play the shooting lying "journalists" aspect .
Politicians will support anything that has the potential for pay offs, kick backs, and skim.

I was rambling. I figured that element of the proposal would come through.. It's true, too...
We could show them a spread sheet that shows an abundance of said creatures, and demonstrate a market, (with no governing authority) and they'd go along with selling them.. Play it on out.. Question is, who besides them would want them?...

I keep hearing about "Common Sense Gun Laws" from the anti's. That can only translate into the fact the 20,000+ we now have on the books do not apply "common sense". I totally agree, so why don't they offer to clean the slate and start over? They should jump for joy at that offer.

much like obama care, if they really wanted to fix health care in this country, they could have done it with a few targeted and narrow laws.  Instead, we got a 1600+ page pos that fucked every one.   its not about whats best, or even how we can control things any more.  Its how many backs we can scratch while making ourselfs look good.

FTA
""Year after year guns flow into our city from states that don't have common sense gun laws," Mr Bloomberg said on Monday, adding that North and South Carolina were among the top three sources of guns used in crime in the city."

Then how come those states have crime rates that are so much lower than NYC ?
The very next paragraph stated that the guns were bought by an undercover cop, this is just another one of Bloomy's illegal PR stunts.
If the cop was purchasing the pistols out of state on behalf of an investigative unit with out disclosing that he was not the actual purchaser that is a "Straw Purchase" and therefore the crime was committed by the cop.
