I was just going to tag this on another thread but the forum software suggested starting a new topic.
THE National Match is coming up 9/21-9/22 at South River Gun Club in Conyers GA (East of Atlanta).
I'll be shooting Amateur and Competitive divisions. I might look at Master Stock, just for fun, but I need to see what the scores were, before I go dropping $25 to compete against the "masters".
I'll be there on Saturday, 9/21. If anyone want to meet up, let me know. I usually arrive by 8am and am done by noon. Hopefully the weather won't be too hot and humid.

Good luck. Wish I could be there.

The best of luck to you. Of course when you shoot a glock who needs luck , just aim and press the bang switch. ;D

Come on now. If it were that easy we'd all be Distinguish Masters.
Got to have Glock to shoot GSSF.

Yes I have a couple of Glocks and planning for a few more. I did join the GSSF and will be shooting matches next year( I hope.)
(Does this mean I have turned to the dark side ?) ;D
-
Yes you did.
Did you get your cookies?

(Does this mean I have turned to the dark side ?) ;D
But the beauty of this, that unlike The Force, I don't have to choose. I can shoot all of them. ICORE on Saturday, IDPA w/ a steel DA/SA on Monday, USPSA w/ a 1911 on Tuesday, .22lr bowling pins with a Buckmark on Wednesday, and a GSSF match on Friday.

Others will say you've "Seen The Light". ;D ;D

I have even joined the forum on Glock I.D.
Haven't got my cookies yet but I'm sure they are here somewhere. ;D

Oh My! You have gone over. I was a beta tester for GlockID but dropped out after it went live. I'm nowhere near that dedicate to them. I have too many forums and news feeds to take on another one. Heck I don't even check in at the S&W Forum on a regular basis and I'm a owner of the company.

It is kind of fun there, earning points to rank up and posting targets to keep track of improvement.
I too belong to the S&W forum, still break out the wheel guns every month or so just to limber them up. ;D
S&W 586 6"
S&W 66 4"
S&W 29 4"

Only three. Tsk. Tsk. Though they are good ones.
I wish I could lend you some assistance. But I am barely one gun above piker level myself.

I also now wear Glock tee shirts too. ;D

RESULTS:
As always, I'm a much MUCH better shooter in my dreams than at the match.
My Amateur/Civilian score was 98.16. Good news is that's better than the 113 from last year. Bad news is I not gonna be on page 1, probably not even Page 2. Also, I scored 86.09 at River Bend in July, so I definitely did bad. At RB I was only down 3 points. This weekend I had 2 misses (20 seconds!).
Good news is my plates were 22.99, 4 seconds better than last year, and a LOT better than I did at River Bend in July. Bad news I it's not my lowest plate score which was 21.31.
Takeaway. I still get too juiced when shooting in matches. And I really really need to practice on real plates, not just 2 paper bullseyes. I'm going to join a real outdoor range with proper steel.
I doubt if my score will give me top Super Senior. Very unlikely, though I'm hoping the rain and the major USPSA match at Dawnsonville will have keep the scores higher than normal.
Did get to talk to Gunny for a minute or two. Here's this years picture of him talking with some friends.

RESULTS (preliminary) are in:
Okay, not too great.
This years nationals I scored 98.16. Boo Hiss. Hey I choked on 5-to-Glock and had a miss. That placed me 59 out of 348.. 17%. I was 3rd super senior and got beat by a bunch of senior shooters. Also beat by the top junior males shooter who happened to place 2nd overall (Brian Hampton). And by the top lady, who also is a junior shooter. Watch for Andrea Boone as she moves into other action disciplines.
That said I did do better than last year's nationals. And I did good at plates 22.99 on 4 runs.
But for some reason I always shoot better in the July match at River Bend GC (Dawsonville). My best outdoor match score to date is 77.39. And my best Plate score was 21.39. All of that done at RBGC. (For those unfamiliar GSSF uses the same 3 stages at all matches so scores can be compared one match to another.)
I may be getting some shooting instruction in the near future. Not specific to GSSF, but I'm betting it will help.
Goals are still to beat 20 seconds on the plates. And to keep penalties on the other stages to <10.
Until 2014 that's it for the outdoor Glock matches for me.

This followed me home yesterday. ;D

Very Cool.

I have a bunch of .40 brass just could not pass this one up.

Plus you know Wolf has a 9mm barrel for that! You would need the 9mm magazines, but it works with most ammo just swap out the barrel. On car trips, I pack the G23, 3 full mags of .40, the 9mm barrel and 3 full mags of 9mm. Ready to fight my way back home regardless of conditions.

Following up on my GSSF adventures:
Last night was a local indoor league match. The RM had promised that he would make the COF easy so people could try for 500. Of the three matches in a league, he makes one average, one hard and one easy. So I made special effort to get to this one. The RM got sent out of town on business and couldn't make it back in time. One of the store employees ran the match and it was super hard. The norm for most targets is 10 rounds in 15 seconds. We did three strings, 10 rounds in 10 seconds and one was 10 rounds in 5 seconds (3 yds). Nailed the last one, but dropped a few points on the others. 483. So much for joining the 500 club this month.
