I didn't read the link, but I agree wholeheartedly with the line you quoted .
"Work" not only gives us our wages, the fact that you are producing goods or supplying a service builds your sense of self worth, and your " place" as a member of  the community .

He sure sounds like he is "down" on folks making lots of money....this from the leader of one of the wealthiest organizations on earth.

There is no doubt, however, that between the church’s priceless art, land, gold and investments across the globe, it is one of the wealthiest institutions on Earth.

When your portfolio goes back nearly 2000 years you darn well better be incredibly wealthy .

and a lot of that they were basicly criminal and the rest they prayed apon the fears of the people.

That is true...and a lot of it is in non-liquid assets ..building, relics, art work that will never be put on the market, but much is invested to perpetuate the church...and not being used to help folks in need...

Maybe they should lighten up on folks who have only 80 years and find it as important as the church to amass some wealth...
