Dude! I'm going to be away those days!!! Ahhh! There is no more of a tactical zero than me. You will have to settle for second best.

Pfffft...I'd bet I have you out Zeroed, Jay.
I'm known in the "Operator" circles I run with as Double Oh Zero. ;D ;D
-
If I wasn't so dang fat I'd sign up.
-
I'm available. That is if you want a super senior type.
-
I have one hip, a bad knee, little to no funding and a bad attitude...
I'd be comical at least! ;D
-
If you want to see an overweight guy with wheeze his way around...slowly...I'm your man.
-
Okay, Count me in as the kid of the bunch ;D

if you want a tall skinny guy, I am it.

That's what I'm talking about....maybe we should both petition to get in. Like bookends....
-
I could definitely make it!!

Swing by my house, we can drive up the hill together, or better yet, I'll meet you on I-40 in Flag.
Save you 4 hrs added drive time. :D
Whoever gets this should start praying for a freeze or a good cold front to cut across AZ.
I was camping overnight at a slightly lower elevation than Gunsight a few days ago.The bugs were something to behold.
And curse at.
Rain + high desert = Bug migrating, mating, biting PITA free for all. First time I ever thought seriously about a Mesh Bug Hat.
-
I'll bring some old 6-12 repellant. Not the new stuff that only serves to make you feel icky...the real old time repellant that worked.
I do have the vacation too....just checked. Can bring Burris Fastfire II on S&W M&P with me.....
-
Michael,
I think you have a couple of great candidates there. I would even suggest the overweight ones.
Thanks for these offers! I will be watching for another, but there are just too many responsibilities in the fire for this one.
Thanks again!
Mike

I'm satisfied with staying a zero. ;)
-
I'm available.
-
Outstanding offer, MB........ but alas, I'm not finished building "Robo-Leg" yet............ ;D ;D
-
Good luck guys! And make MB take you to Murphy's!
-
Count me in. I hate to admit it but if the only requirement is to be a "zero" when it comes to anything tactical then I am well qualified.
-
Heck yeah, Put me in the running!
I have red dots on my rifles, and I think red dots on handguns are going to be the future.
I'd love to participate in a class or run a 3 gun match or two to test the concept!
-
Another fat, old, broken down, bad back smoker. Can't move, can't breathe. No handgun mounted optics.
Much as I'd love to get the time, I don't fit the bill..
I hate getting old!!!

Me too.....until I consider the alternatives.....
Amen!!!
The grass is a LOT greener on THIS side than on the root side.
-
Tried a PDPII or III not sure, on a ss (no hicaps back then) and was so slow that they had to use a sundial to time me!!!! LOL Probably wouldn't be any better now that I'm that much older and blinder!

New job = no time off! Ain't that the way it goes!?!

It would be kewl to spend time training with Suarez and learn how to work the red dots on pistols. At the Ruger Rimfire Challenge in Tulsa back in July we put red dots on our pistols knowing we'd have to learn how they work. We zeroed them (well, almost) 30 minutes before competition started. I had an el cheapo Browning on the Browning Buckmark and a Burris Fastfire 3 on an S&W M&P 22....the M&P took the lead but a lot of that was due to it running the ammo better than the Buckmark.
The hard part for us was holding the gun so that you'd be aligned to find the dot quickly...when that happened they got fast and quick. It's just the alignment thing did not happen quick enough or often enough. Since a quick alignment is required before a shot..., I've sworn off the dot for defensive pistol unless I can learn something that puts the dot in front of my eyes each and every time when I'm looking at the target. So...I guess I'm saying until the dot is something quickly picked up it's more a "competition gimmick" than a useful defensive tool for me. Overall, I would have been faster with iron sights.
We put the EOTech on the Ruger 10/22 that was a prize on this board a few years back. It ran really fast since we were familiar running it from training on the AR....but then you have a cheek weld with a rifle or carbine that gets that dot alignment checked off quickly enough for the dot to be useful and advantageous for defensive purposes.
Some of you young guys really need to win this trip though. And, fat or not and not to rub it in guys, but I just scheduled a carbine class taught by Larry Vickers for November.
-
Dude!!!
You are right there!
Are we going to see you on the tube?
-
Not me on the tube....are you talking to me Mike?
Not on the Ruger Rimfire World Championship...and I'd figure no on the carbine class it's in Texas just across the state line. The carbine class is motivating me to lose weight though...plan is to walk a mile before work in the morning and at least 2-1/2 in the evening after work...and to eat less and better.

Sign me up. Don't care what is on the calendar, I'll make it if my name is called 8)
-
OH HECK YEAH!
Sign me up!

The wait is over and I'm pumped.
This will be so cool, if I can get my heart rate down.
(must practice, must practice, must practice)

It's over and down with, and now's up to Michael and his team of wizards to makes us look heroic.
Alf comported himself spectacularly well, and seeing yourself shooting on the high-speed at thousands of frames per second was really, really cool.
Thanks to Michael, John, Gabe, Alf and all the Downrange crew for an incredible experience.
-
Yep it's all in the can. Thanks Kevin for the kind words. Kevin had more Action shooting experience and excelled in the long range shooting. I felt like Brian Zinn and should have done better. Of course a Glock isn't the right tool for long range shooting. That's my excuse and I'm sticking with it.
I encourage every one to follow Kevin's blogs

I am officially bummed. I mean, I changed jobs and everything so I would be able to toss my hat in the ring for 2014, and I realize it ain't happening :'(
Congrats to those who got to experience the thrill and gain from the experts!
Can't wait for the new shows to start ... Dang, I'd be happy if the Outdoor Channel would even run reruns like they do for the other shows.
-
Where did you hear Z-2-H is gone for 2014?
I didn't get the memo...
-
I just noticed that MB had not put out the invitation. Don't know what will be produced.
-
Dang! Those are good episodes and I always throw my hat in the ring too!
It would be pretty cool to do one for long range at the WTF Ranch that is spoken about in the podcast!
Just saying.... :D
-
Wait, I stayed as a zero so I would have a chance for another year nothing now? ;D
