Preface
I've got too much time and too much nervous energy today, so you suckers get to suffer :-\
I've had some rather heated debates exchanges with local sheeple over the last year or so. I have a warped sense of fun, but it is practical fun.
Who the hell are you to tell me that I can not legally purchase dynamite and use it for target shooting?
Why can't I build a cannon that launches bowling balls long distances?
Why shouldn't I be allowed to tinker in my shop and build firearms from iron and brass?
Why is it illegal for me to make and put explosive tips on my arrows?
Riddle me this Thomas Jefferson, why should a law abidng citizen of the United States be denied any of this recreation?

I think you got the URL wrong. Try Huffpo.com. Here, you'll get boring unanimity. If it doesn't need a trailer hitch I shouldn't need a permit. And if it does, it should be shall issue.

;D Great To Do List!
1. legally purchase dynamite and use it for target shooting?
Pretty neat to tape 'em to the A pillar of a '73 Chevy and peel the roof back when they detonate with that ol' deer rifle Check ;D
2. build a cannon that launches bowling balls long distances? We used grape soda cans because they were cheaper. Kids were
shooting them straight up and timing them with a stop watch to calculate altitude with the calculus formula they had learned in
physics class. Their mom made them stop - getting to close to airplanes on base leg for the local airport
Check this out. http://www.buckstix.com/HowitzerBarrel.htm (http://www.buckstix.com/HowitzerBarrel.htm)
Contact Kansas Canon if you don't want to build your own. Check ;D
3. tinker in my shop and build firearms from iron and brass? Kit or from scratch? I need suggestions!
4. put explosive tips on my arrows? Good to go in Missouri. Of course we are a little free-er here.

A guy I worked with did this. (and made sure he was legal) He went into bowling alleys to get balls they were going to throw away.
Why shouldn't I be allowed to tinker in my shop and build firearms from iron and brass?
You can make them out of the finest steel and walnut if you want, you just can't sell them.
Maybe it's a MN thing.

That is so cool! I'm guessing it's completely impractical as a hunting device, but it looks fun as hell!
I like this too...

You realize that there is nothing you can not make or use as long as you pay for the proper permits.
The only reason you can not buy a Harpoon anti ship missile is because the guidance system is classified.
Remember, it's all manufactured by private industries.

Who are you to decide that I need a permit if it needs a trailer hitch?

We already need tags for the trailer...
as the dinner story goes.. We should have stopped them at the biscuit.
