Title: Budget 7.62x39 bolt gun
Post by: ccd on October 20, 2013, 01:59:16 PM
I hope Ruger will make the American in 7.62x39 when they get around to making them in small calibers like the 223. I know I m not the first person to ask for a budget bolt in 7.62x39 on this forum. I have given up hope that Savage would make their Axis in it. A budget bolt in 7.62x39 just makes a lot of sense for anyone that wants to shoot a great deal for very little money. Even when ammo was at its hardest to find I could still find 7.62x39 for a decent price. Just thought I would throw the topic out there as it has been mentioned before and there is demand for it.

honestly, i don't see it as a money maker.  You can buy semi autos for cheap and the cheap ammo is not exactly target grade.    i understand exactly what you are saying, but i really don't see it happening.

CZ 527.  MSRP of $711.  Impact Guns around $680, and Bud's around $650.  Neither have them in stock though.  Armslist was around $500.

Agreed! They make a great gun and it's actually scaled down to fit the caliber, not a large action cut down to fit. It really is a trim little bolt gun.

I have the 527 carbine in both 7.62x39 and .223 and they make great woods guns.
