Title: YouTube: Post YOUR Favorites
Post by: PegLeg45 on October 25, 2013, 07:52:04 PM
While bored the other day, several family members were discussing our 'favorite' youtube videos...... everyone has that one or few that they always go back to for a guaranteed laugh or something such as that......

Being a long-time insomniac, youtube has been a large time-burglar over the last few years and I have a host of favorites.....So, I figured it would be a good thread topic on here.

One of my all-time, definitely in my top three...... because it is simple, subtle, and just plain funny to me (language warning):

And this one was on our local area news a few years ago.....filmed about 20 miles from me:

The German slingshot video is a fake. He made a video explaining it. The ricochet looked real to me.

My all time favorite, realize I deal with videos as my job, is this simple, elegant one called "Drama Queen".   British made and won the "Young Directors Award" three years ago.

This one goes in the "I'll be Van Dammed" category.........  :o

Like him or not, this is cool (even if he did use safety lines)........and, according to the info, done in one take.

Almost 54.5 million hits since 13th of November.

Watch Jean-Claude Van Damme carry out his famous split between two reversing trucks. Never done before, JCVD says it's the most epic of splits -- what do you think? Please share & comment!

This live test was set up to demonstrate the precision and directional stability of Volvo Dynamic Steering -- a world first technology that makes the new Volvo FM easier to drive.

Filmed in Spain on a closed-off landing field at sunrise in one take.
Directed by Andreas Nilsson
Soundtrack by Enya: Only Time

The latest Volvo commercial is going viral for good reason. Action star Jean-Claude Van Damme takes his 53 year-old body to the next level to showcase Volvo's Dynamic Steering System. The stunt is in fact real. A Volvo rep confirmed that the spot was done in just one take, and if the actor had gotten a leg cramp while filming, he would have been protected by plenty of safety lines that were not visible in the final video. He also was aided by small platforms on the trucks' side mirrors that helped prop up his feet. But none of this takes away from the badassery of doing a perfect split between two massive moving vehicles.
