Today, we are officially announcing The Tactical Wire, our latest specialty wire service. The Tactical Wire is designed to bring the law enforcement, military and personal defense sectors of the firearms trade the same service The Shooting Wire did for the firearms component of the outdoor industry.

Guess this is good thing but I am not a swat member.  I look forward to MB and his new defense for civies program.

Within the next 4 - 8 years you may develope a very deep interest in how SWAT teams work.

Why wait 4-8 years? I think now is the time to learn.

I get annoyed when I go through the various training sites materials, and see "For LEO/miliary only"? Why? I know, you're going to point out that we have to keep some things secret so the bad guys don't get wise to our protectors' way and find ways to circumvent them. But the bad guys do find a way around them anyway, and we are forced to adapt to overcome.

We have created a special caste system in this country, where some of us are more equal than others. LEOs get "special" training to learn how to subjugate the enemy, bureaucrats and politicians get special perks and dispensations, the better to dominate us.

And all this must stop.

Ominous.  B-HO et.al, will ensure this when they come for the guns.  It is ironic, a single group of people who support LEO and LEO ideals more than others will be targeted in a gun grab....brother against brother?  One to subjugate the other for those in control who despise the ideals of both.

Tomorrow, we'll be premiering the first edition of The Tactical Wire.

Each of you reading this will be on our initial distribution list. So consider this a heads-up that there will be something new in your mailbox tomorrow (barring force majeur - no one can predict that). The new Tactical Wire will be from us.

The Tactical Wire marks the addition of two seasoned professionals from the world of writing and the tactical world to The Outdoor Wire family

Rich Grassi, the Tactical Wire's new editor, needs little introduction to anyone who reads about firearms and tactical gear. A veteran shooter, writer and evaluator of tactical equipment, Rich will be handling the day-to-day operations of this new service. Although he's too-modest to tell you himself, he's even authored a new book on police firearms instruction that will be out later this year.

On the expert instructional side, we're honored to have Tiger McKee and his Shootright Firearms Academy aboard. Tiger will be approaching tactical training from his experience as an instructor and lifelong student of tactical shooting as a martial art.

His expertise (beginning in our second edition) will challenge you to "keep your eyes up" and encourage a situational awareness that is frequently missed in firearms and shooting instruction. As the great shooters in any discipline will tell you, there's a lot more involved than mechanical abilities. Tiger can improve your shooting mechanics and your mental approach.

The Tactical Wire isn't our attempt to spread existing material under a fresh label, it is being "created from scratch" because you told us you really want more in the broad-area considered "tactical".

For that reason, we'll continue to solicit your suggestions and input.

After all, you are why we are here.

Candidly, there will be times that material will crossover between our wires. With the AR-15 rifle platform arguably the most popular one in the shooting world for anything from precision shooting to hunting, it's inevitable.

That inevitability, however, doesn't mean readers of The Shooting Wire can suddenly expect to be inundated with practical/tactical teaching material. Our area of concentration will still be shooting as a recreation and a sport. We love competition, from Cowboy Action to tactical three-gun, but we're not going to suddenly start dressing like a SWAT team.

The military and law enforcement areas will be served in The Tactical Wire - by experts in that very specialized area.

But it would be naïve not to recognize that high-speed tactical gear today will be mainstream shooting gear tomorrow. As evidence, consider the AR-itself, and the high-performance optics, lights, rangefinders and super-functional gear we all use.
