-
Still having turkey but plan on washing it down with plenty of scotch. Got to have something to help deal with the relatives. ;)
-
I'm having chicken at my mom's house. A turkey is too big for the two of us.
-
Tuducken.....
-
Ham
-
Eat more Pork and ham is on the menu ;D
-
Standing rib roast, two boner!
Heh, heh... I said boner... Heh, heh...
Just the wife and me today and some Lions football.
-
Actually, our son, the chef, is doing two turkeys! One regular and one smoked.
Have a great Thanksgiving all,
Richard and Norma and family

My wife gave me a kitchen pass (literally) this year. I will be watching the Packers vs. Lions while enjoying chips n dip.

After the game it is back out in the woods for another shot at more venison for the freezer.
Later in the evening I will make some spaghetti with venison burger and fresh cooked bread and garlic butter.
I'm doing the cooking for just myself but the "silence" will be a first. This is why my wife is the best. She recognizes how uncomfortable I am with the large family get together and was willing to let me stay north at the farm and hunt. I will miss her and the grandkids, but the decompression stress release of the hunting season will help me get through the upcoming Christmas.

This is our first Thanksgiving with absolutely nothing going on. :D
Don't get me wrong, I love having family over, but over the last few years the logistics have caused too much anxiety (that happens when both children are married and trying to decide which set of parents to eat with etc, etc.).
This year, our younger son is working (firefighter) and his wife is going to her parents and our older son and his family are going to his in-laws this year.
I kinda welcome the quietness of a 'down' year to pause and reflect on what I am truly thankful for: my own life, my wife beating cancer four years ago, our older son beating cancer this year, and all the family getting along and reasonably healthy for the coming holiday season.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all.
So, I think TAB has the right idea. ;D ;D

Having Lasagna. Wife wanted ham, son and I voted for lasagna, we won! What all good pollocks eat. :)
Happy Thanksgiving to all.
-
Having turkey - the new wife is in the kitchen getting it ready right now in fact. Went to Woodford Reserve bourbon distillery yesterday with my Marine son - got samples and bottles to consume, which they will be partially later today. So not a "down" day, but not crazy either. It has been a wonderful year, so lots to be thankful for! ;D

And, considering I spent all afternoon last Thanksgiving in the ER getting poked, prodded and x-rayed, I'll take an "easy" one this year. ;)
-
No turkey here. Not my favorite, and too hard to digest. Mel made 4 nice homemade pizza's. Been ramming that all day, and watching "The Godfather".
"Godfather II" is next....."But if Clemenza can arrange for a gun to be planted there for me........Then I'll kill 'em both."

Yummmmmy!!!

Darn Tim, that looks GOOD !.
I had 2 "real" burrito's from the local shop.
I think they make the only decent Burrito in NH, and I also think they marinate the chicken in cocaine because I just can't get enough of it. ;D

+1 on the looking good part!!!
Chicken marinated in cocaine.......
Reminds me of this past summer at the farmer's market. My wife was selling made-from-scratch cakes and cookies to help our older son with expenses during his treatments.
One guy bought a cinnamon loaf and then came back the next Saturday and bought four more, asking if one of the ingredients was crack.
;D

It twas awfully good I must say! Not even prime but it was a good piece of choice rib, good marbling.
Making stock now with the two bones, celery, carrots, onion and garlic with the requisite salt and pepper..
Should be good for a soup or Sunday I was commissioned by my wife to make stew for the kid and her man meat.. I have a young venison neck roast in the freezer but I'm saving that...thinking about running out for a chuck eye roast...damn near a rib-eye for half the money.
