What do you guys have in the way of car/truck lock boxs? I am looking for something i can bolt or cable down. I know they won't stop a gun from being stolen, but it can prevent a smash and grab. Looking for something to hold a hand gun and fit under a seat or in a trunk and not scream gun.

I have two of these (the 200):

I use the cable rather than bolting it in place. I carry it when I fly and cable it secure in the room. It isn't perfect but it will prevent a lot. I have tested it before I started recommending it, and two of us could not break it free from its cable when the cable was wrapped around the pickup seat frame. It is great for the smash and grab, portable security, and even quick security within the home. If you want it permanent you can bolt it to anything.
I recommend for the portable you stick to the good old fashioned key. Mine lives in my pickup, and I have never had an issue working with the key, but another instructor I work with has fouled his combo style and biometric style with road and field crud. The cheapest appears to be the best for abuse.
Also, if you go to a big enough store you can get them keyed alike. I bought my first one at gunman's shop, and I found a matching lockset number in another store. One day I was at a big box hunting shop, and they had a large display. As I looked they had several that were keyed alike.

m58 that is exactly what i am looking for, some thing to stop smash and grab. I am not looking to take something with me, as when i do travel for work, its normally to work on goverment projects where i could not carry a firearm. Which is why i would rather bolt the cable. Lots of guys running around with bolt cutters these days. i also have not prob pulling a seat and carpet to attach something.

The Nanos are made of 16 ga steel, and they are predrilled to about 3/16". I wouldn't be afraid to jut run a couple #10 sheet metal screws through as long as I knew there were no wires or lines under the floor.

i was thinking thru bolts and a backing plate.

Funny, TAB, that's what I think when I look at your avatar.
Mmmm. backing plate.
What did you say?

Two #10 screws into the floor will hold anything that box will protect. If they have the tools to get that out in a snatch and grab you won't stop them with anything you would have in a vehicle.

depending on your vehicle make, permanently mounting it to the floor may not allow enough room for the lid to open under a seat. Aproximately half the length of the box from floor to seat bottom is necessary to provide enough access for your hand and weapon.

937 f 250 sd 4x4 diesel there is about 8 " of clearance under the seat. they don't make them like they use too. i only wish it had 4.10 gears, until i am at the pump lol i know its why i can crack the upper teens in gas milage. Still looking for a gear venders od for it, might do a 4.10 swap after i get one. Having a 8 speed auto is great.
