I also know there there are some on here who will point out worse yet.

Guess what guys - Moved back here by my own free choice knowing what it was like from experience and knowing where I had been for nearly a decade.  No interest in making a move out of the region at this time.

Nice thing is that it is kind of a Darwin affect.  This weather thins out the riff raff  ;D

-7 Current. Supposed to be -18 tonight. I don't know how cold it was last night but when I tried to fill the horse trough the water froze before getting to the end of the hose. I had to bucket it.
At least the wind isn't blowing.  ;D

Wretched weather, here.  Only 72 and sunny, now.

Last night, it dropped way down into the low 60s.

Bunny contemplated getting out of bed to shut the window--but decided against it, and just turned the ceiling fan down to low.

Still, by the grace of God and a few cold brews, we shall muddle through.

Florida.  What a place to spend winter.

That's why I always hooked the hose up to the hot water line when watering the horses in winter!   ;D

-7 in Fargo today, minus 16 expected tonight. Wind chills in the -30's and -40's.

Here in balmy KY, it's mid 20's - above - and icy from a rain/sleet/snow last night. Another expected tonight and tomorrow.

I just love  Global Warming ;D

You didn't know that Global Warming was the reason it's cold?
It snows because it's too hot and freezes because of CO2 greenhouse gas trapped heat. Ask any liberal dipstick and they'll be happy to explain it...

Which is why every company must pay carbon credits to the Chicago Climate Exchange.
It's all fact based and above corruption.  ::)

i love how they use computer models...  Only as some one that has a degree in math, i call bull shit.   the functions need to try to predict stuff like this are so large it boggles the mind.  The variables are so many and so deverse.  Every thing from gravity( tides), magnitecs, fuild dynamics, solar out put shifts,  variable densitys(air water earth), countors of the earth, shading, the tilting and wabling of the earth, distance from the sun... Etc etc.    thats just off the top of my head.   the only one of those thats even remotly easy to model is the distance from the sun and thats still a conic( not even a constant orbit) and compounded by the wobble and rotation of  the earth and the geography.     still that would be easy to figure, take probably a life time to get a good equation, but doable.

When I was in elementary school, it was pretty much assumed we were going to have another Ice Age in one hundred years or so.

The science was settled.

Then the world was to die of pollution. Then nuclear winter. Then global warming.

I just wish they'd make up their minds on how we're all going to die!

It snowed 1/4" over the last 6 hours. If it's only that much because of global warming then I'm all for it.

Soooooooooo, Is it safe to say it's Bull Sh*t given all the variables, all this warm/Cold/warm/cold has been going on for centuries and Al Gore (Who invented the internet & can't be wrong) is so full of the brown squishy stuff. Carbon tax is another way the liberal/commie pinko/progressives can get extra $$$$ & use it to indoctrinate the younger generations that all this "warming" is caused by us humans. Wholly sh*t, I guess I have been wrong all these yrs. I believe this has been happening for yrs. it's a natural occurrence, just like the poles will flip/shift (proof exists) as they have in the past. The f*cking left just saw an opportunity and is expounds upon it, playing chicken little. Just my uneducated guess.
It's funny, they started calling it global warming BUT changed it to climate change - DUH, the climate changes all the time. JMHO.

i wouldn't call it bull shit, the methods used are actually pretty good, its the  models that are not good.   having thousands of computers run the same model with diffrent imputs and variables is actually a pretty good way to figure out a complex system.     to relate it to guns, they are trying to predict how fast a bullet will go, by only having  powder load and the case size.   they have 2 of 10 things they need to accuratly approxamte it.

By the way, where exactly does the carbon tax go?

Most of if probably goes to the DNC or a HEAVY contributor to them...minus a fee for shipping and handling of course!

It's supposed to go to buying tracts of rainforest so it can't be cleared...that's the last line of laughable BS I heard.
(as if the the miners in South America give a rat's patoot before they decimate an area)

Actually, it's a lot simpler than that - they simply delete the data that disproves their models.

You can sort of tell you are being fed a line of crap when they tell you that the model for Global Warning predicts the weather getting hotter or the weather getting colder or the weather staying just the same.

No matter what the weather does or for how long proves the Global Warming Theory.

Read today that some scientists are predicting a prolonged period of falling average temperatures..(who knows how accurate they are)...
but Al Gore is probably prepared.  He will invest in the company that you pay to increase your carbon footprint to fight Global Cooling, do another Snake Oil presentation and be awarded another Peace Prize for it.

The only problem with the "Global Warming" bs is that the planet has cooled 1/2 a degree since 1999.
Global Warming, just like everything else Liberals say is "undeniable" , is just a collection of lies, misrepresentations, and media hype, with out any legitimate science behind it at all .

Guess what boys and girls:  We have been coming out of an ice age for many centuries.  That is what the scientific evidence shows.  This turn is part of a cycle, and it started long before we started burning fossil fuels.  I often say that I can't prove that we aren't accelerating it, but that doesn't matter, because it is going to happen regardless.  I will also point out that as with any change in any thing, natural or man made, and the process moves forward it accelerates naturally.

Now, get over it and move on!

Found a link to the "Global Cooling" story I read.

Again, who knows how accurate this is...but if it is valid, it is ironically funny...and if it isn't, it's still funny.

German scientists found that two naturally occurring cycles will combine to lower global temperatures during the 21st century, eventually dropping to levels corresponding with the “little ice age” of 1870.

They also factored into their work a well-established 65-year Atlantic and Pacific Ocean oscillation cycle. Global warming that has occurred since 1870 can be attributed almost entirely to both these factors, the scientists argue

But I put the plow on my ATV yesterday so I don't have to shovel it all by hand. Yea. It was so cold yesterday that my fingers froze even with winter gloves on. We need more global warming.

Fired up the tractor this evening to move some snow during the heat wave.  Now here is something I need to remember every winter and that most people don't talk about:  We all think about gelling fuel, but when was the last time you heard complaints about hydraulics?  Plugged the tractor in at 6:00am, and it popped right off at 6:30pm.  However, had to run it for half an hour before the hydraulics would operate, and it took another half hour of use before it operated smoothly.

How long does it take to warm up ten gallons of hydraulic fluid encased in a ton of cast iron?

Don't know, but if you call me next July I'll tell you if it has happened yet.

You should try to warm up a 2500 ton capacity hydraulic press with a 1600 gallon fluid tank. That baby will moan and groan for half an eight hour shift before it smooths out and quiets down. If the ambient temp dropped and stayed below 60 for a weekend, it was hell on start-up Sunday nights.....and for every 5 degrees below 60, it took twice as long. I finally convinced them to let me design a oil heating system to maintain operating temp when shut down......which is what I was working on when circumstances beyond my control intervened.

Left home at 4:30am, and it was 27f.  Stayed around there all day, and at 9:30pm I was driving home in 15f.  Feels like summer, and I was running around without a jacket and my sleeves rolled up even with the stiff winds.

Sad part is that at these temps everything sifting across the road does not make it across the road.  Road kill snow is damn slick!
