They kicked Phil Robertson, (but not the rest of the crew), off "Duck Dynasty" because of the comments he made about homosexuals. More politically correct nonsense. Why are we being forced to approve and like what these people prefer and do? If you're part of something that's sexually controversial, don't be offended of the majority of people don't like it or you. What he said is what most every devout Christian believes anyway. It just proves liberals hate reality. They wanted "reality TV". Now that they got it, they try to get rid of it.
I don't care what these ass hats do behind closed doors. Just don't expect me to like or approve of it. The same applies to what Phil Robertson and Paula Deen say. These people, (homosexuals), keep trying to punish everyone who doesn't agree with their lifestyle, or admits to using a word they don't happen to like. It's all getting old.

Wait and watch:
This will be the end of Duck Dynasty. Not because of the political correct uproar, but because the Robertsons will carry through on the notice that if their Faith is removed from the show they won't do it. It won't be out of support for Phil. It will be out of respect for God!
-
We live in a world where Miley Cyrus gets her MTV antics rewarded with a guest appearance on SNL, where Robin Thicke's song glorifying date rape goes to #1 on the charts, but a man who quotes the Bible gets booted from his own show.
Beam me up, Scotty, I'm tired of this planet.
-
Anyone who says they're shocked or surprised by his comments is just straight up lying. Did they think that a devout Louisiana minister would feel any other way? They're just a bunch of damn yuppies who are looking for any reason to make him go away.
And what he said wasn't even bad. He said he doesn't see the appeal in a man's anus. I can't argue with him there. He didn't condemn anyone. He said he leaves that to the almighty.
-
This pretty much covers it.

Dear A&E,
I read that you are indefinitely suspending Phil Robertson from Duck Dynasty after he quoted the Bible and said that the homosexual act is sinful. I get it, guys. I do. You punished the Christian guy for being a Christian because you got some angry emails from a bunch of whiny gay activists who lack the spine and maturity to deal with the fact that there are still people out there who have the guts to articulate opinions that they find disagreeable. In so doing, you’ve kowtowed to a pushy minority of vocal bullies who don’t even watch your channel, while alienating the fan base of the one show that keeps your entire network afloat.
Makes sense.
You’ve got standards, after all. You wouldn’t want to be associated with tasteless and inappropriate things. The people on Duck Dynasty can’t be allowed to run around being all Christian-like. It might ruin the reputation of the network whose other shows include Hoarders and Intervention — programs that invite viewers to gawk at drug addicts and the mentally ill for their own amusement.
Disney-ABC Television Group owns 50 percent of your network, were they involved in this decision? They must have been. They’ve got a brand to protect. They can’t allow a bearded right winger to spout beliefs. BELIEFS, of all things. The horror! We must shutdown beliefs, opinions, and ideas, and get back to the serious business of selling sex and debauchery to children. They can’t deal with these distractions, don’t they have another season of The Bachelor or Desperate Housewives or Trophy Wife to produce?
Good Lord, these militant neo-liberal thought police are better at brainwashing than I ever realized. They just convinced you to torpedo your own network. You guys just kamikazed yourselves. You just pulled the pin on the grenade and then put it in your pocket. This is incredible. Didn’t you see what happened with Chic-fil-A when GLAAD crusaders tried to shutdown an entire business just because they disapproved of the owners opinions? Don’t you remember that? I’ll refresh your memory: their “boycott” resulted in an enormous sales spike for the company, as millions of people like myself went out of our way to eat there just to ensure that the anti-free speech fools on the left didn’t win. A week after the anti-Chic-fil-A campaign began, their restaurants across the country were overflowing. It was, officially, the least effective boycott in the history of mankind.
Now it’s all going to happen again, except it will be the opposite effect, and you’ll be on the losing end this time around.
If you don’t bring Phil back immediately, and publicly apologize to him and to his viewers for attempting to censor his Christian faith, Duck Dynasty will leave your network, find a new home, and all of those ratings will go somewhere else. Then you’ll be stuck with the stragglers who feel like spending a Saturday rubbernecking at mentally disturbed elderly women with compulsive hoarding addictions. That’s how this is going to play out. Congratulations.
Did you think the “gay rights” crowd would stick around and “support you” for meeting their ransom demands? No, silly A&E, that isn’t how this works. The speech-controllers on the left are like a black hole. They can only suck you in and obliterate you. They’re like the devil — they ask for your soul and offer nothing in return.
Am I coming on too strong?
Just wait.
Just you wait.
This is the worst decision you’ve ever made. Well, “Bonnie and Clyde” was the worst decision, but this is a close second. Speaking of which, just to make sure we’re clear, the violent mini-series glorifying a couple of thugs who robbed some banks and killed some people 80 years ago — OK. Wholesome family man quotes the Bible during an interview with GQ — UNACCEPTABLE. Is that the correct equation? Is that your business model?
Just to be doubly clear: you guys hate the Bible and find it to be offensive, right? Or is it just parts of the Bible? Or is just Christians? Or is it just Christians who have the audacity to believe in the entire Bible, rather than a select few segments that pass the modern PC litmus test? Just let me know, and I’ll send the word along to my readers, many of whom are Christians who watch — I mean, used to watch –A&E. I’m sure they’ll be interested in finding out that you view their faith as so abhorrent that you’d fire a guy simply for quoting a passage from Scripture.
You made your bed. You decided to stand against free speech, against open expression of ideas, against Christians, against the Bible, against the views of a majority of humanity, against the most profitable show in the history of your network, and against almost all of your viewers. But, hey, at least you put a smile on GLAAD’s face. That must make it all worth it, right?
Sincerely,
Everyone who isn’t a left wing extremist (AKA your former customer base)

Partial from this post, http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/2013/12/damn-i-hate-to-wade-into-this.html (http://michaelbane.blogspot.com/2013/12/damn-i-hate-to-wade-into-this.html), on the Michael Bane Blog:
• If Phil had announced that he was a practicing a Louisiana version of paganism, and that he and the other guys would be sacrificing a young duck for the Solstice, after which they would dance nude around the haulbolli while being sprinkled with said duck's blood, there would be an outcry, but it would ALL be positive (well, maybe PETA might have an issue with the duck, but screw them). Phil would be congratulated for standing up for his religious beliefs in the face of the brainless masses who don't understand the joys of cultural relativity. If Phil had announced that he and the boys had become converted to a very strictly orthodox sect of Islam, which would require the women of Duck Dynasty to wear burquas and that mandates homosexuals be dealt with in the way prescribed by mullahs in Afghanistan and Iran — death — do you have any doubt that in no time at all they'd be on stage with Obama getting Medals of Freedom?
• The MSM and the dominant leftist culture in the United States are stridently and occasionally violently anti-Christian. This is a clear example of that bias. What Phil says is that judgement is not his province...amen to that! Phil and his family is being punished for their religious beliefs — and THAT is about as unAmerican as you can get!
I stand with my friend Willie and his family.

Some people will not watch A&E/Duck Dynasty because of what Phil said. MANY MORE people will not watch A&E/DD because of the way he's being treated by the network.
Here's the catch 22: There's no way for the network to "know" why they are being not watched. All they know is that their numbers are going to plummet. It will be completely up to their interpretation.
-
There are multiple levels at play here.
The blatant hypocrisy of the MSM and the gay movement, who one minute shout from the rooftops about freedom of choice and freedom of expression (I guess that's as long as you side with their beliefs) and then the next minute call for action against someone else for speaking their beliefs.
Then you have the TV execs who don't know whether to crap or go blind (an old southern term) over how they think sponsors might react.
All of which plays out in public through social media.
Funny thing is, this is very similar to the same knee-jerk reactions we get from school shootings. Where a handful of people try to sway the public opinion to suit an agenda.
The majority of regular old everyday Americans, who own guns, and have the same type opinions as people like Phil Robertson (even if you don't believe the Bible, you may not see homosexuality as normal behavior) are constantly under attack by what amounts to a Chihuahua with the voice of a Great Dane.
The sad thing is how many people pay attention to such a small segment of the population.
For those of the Faith, I respectfully submit:
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. - Matthew 5:10
-
its jut a bunch of horse shit, i have never watched their show, don't plan on it. I do own a couple of their calls, i like them. I would happly go duck hunting with them, hell i'd even buy the shells. i don't give a rats ass about any of this crap. I care that they are a small business, make a good product, have made a good living for themselfs and their employees and they like to duck hunt, if thats all i knew about them, i would be happy to share a blind with them.

We live in a world where Miley Cyrus gets her MTV antics rewarded with a guest appearance on SNL......
Not only that, but she was in the running for Time Magazine
"Person Of The Year". Thankfully, she lost out to the Pope.
-
Yesterday evening I sent an email to Dishnetwork asking them to strip A&E from my programming. They won't do that, but I'm going to tell them to cut off my service if they can't remove A&E....then I am going to cut off my service.
Do I need to tell them I am switching back to Directv?
Naw......they don't need to know.

Things like this remind me just how far we have fallen away from our founding principles. I grew up in the 60's where you could do anything you wanted unless it injured another person and you were big enough to do it. Your rights stopped where the next persons began, however that didn't protect anyone from getting their feelings hurt.
Today we have a powerful group of perverts that our media brainwashed us to accept as another version of normal. Personally I don't care that some men use each other as women if both agree to it but I do object to some elevated status because of it. What Phil said was mild compared to what we all said a generation ago. I also do not see how anyone would prefer a sweaty, hairy legged man to a soft, sweet smelling affectionate woman even if it wasn't a sin.
I sent my little protest to A & E last night and hope their share of our cable fee is reduced. Every channel on your viewing package gets paid something out of your bill whether you ever watch it or not.

There are at least 2 petitions to bring him back. Here's one. https://actright.com/petitions.php/57?REF=EB131219NANT&link=petitionlinkbutton2
I can't get IStandWithPhil to accept my signature. I haven't tried any others.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/12/19/glenn-beck-makes-a-very-exciting-offer-to-the-cast-of-duck-dynasty/
Glenn Beck Makes a Very Exciting Offer to the Cast of ‘Duck Dynasty’
Duck Dynasty on TheBlaze” has a nice ring to it, according to Glenn Beck.
One day after Phil Robertson’s comments about homosexuality earned him an indefinite suspension from the hit series “Duck Dynasty” on A&E, Beck offered the entire Robertson family a place on his own network.
“[All the other networks] will fold to pressure,” he said. “They will all fold to sponsors. They will all fold to money because they are all in over their eyeballs are debt … the only reason why Phil was put on hiatus and not the rest is because it is a money-printing machine.”
Beck said as he sees it, the Robertson family has a choice to make.
“If I am in the Robertson family, I sit down with my family and say, ‘Is this the way we’re going to [let] him be treated? Is this who we are? Are we going to [be] quiet because he has an opinion about the scriptures?’”
Glenn Beck Offers Duck Dynasty a Place at TheBlaze TV After Phil Robertson Controversy
In this May 9, 2012 photo, from left, Willie Robertson, Korie Robertson, Phil Robertson, Miss Kay Robertson and Si Robertson pose at the A&E Networks 2012 Upfront at Lincoln Center in New York. (AP)
Beck said that based on what he knows about the family, they’re not going to continue as though nothing happened. He went so far as to suggest that the entire family call GQ Magazine, where Robertson’s comments appeared, and tell them nothing but, “I agree with Phil.”
“You will either be out, or you will be the most powerful people the country has ever seen on television,” Beck said. “You already have all of the juice you’re ever gonna get … And if you take a stand and they fire you … we’ll be on the phone.”
“We would be proud to have you,” he added.
Beck concluded: “May I suggest: Make your stand. You will never have a better chance. And quite honestly, you’re our best shot as people. If we don’t get people to wake up to the fact that this is fascism, that we are not allowed to have another opinion … they’re never going to wake up. And you’re our best shot.”

Duck Dynasty: 'We Cannot Imagine the Show Going Forward' Without Phil
In a statement released Thursday evening on their website, Duck Dynasty's Robertson posted an official statement that said in part, "[W]e cannot imagine the show going forward without our patriarch at the helm." The patriarch is 67-year-old Phil Robertson, who was suspended by A&E for expressing his Christian beliefs about sin during an interview with GQ Magazine.
The Robertson family added, "We are in discussions with A&E to see what that means for the future of Duck Dynasty."
In his comments, Robertson listed over a half-dozen sins including drunkenness, greed, idolatry, and adultery. The left and media, however, took exception to Robertson adding homosexual behavior to that list, and called for Robertson's head. A&E immediately buckled and suspended Robertson indefinitely.
The public backlash against A&E has been intense, and the uproar has divided the left. While GLAAD and many in the elite media scream "witch!", the likes of the openly gay and left-wing Andrew Sullivan and lesbian feminist Camille Paglia have been critical of A&E and those calling for Robertson to be punished for expressing his religious beliefs.
A&E is the only one in a pickle here. They are the only ones who did anything wrong and "Duck Dynasty" is not only their only hit show, it is the biggest hit on cable. The Robertson family can take their show anywhere, including online. A&E needs them, not the other way around.
...
http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-Sports/2013/12/20/Duck-Dynasty-Under-Armour
Under Armour Will Continue to Sponsor Duck Dynasty Business
Under Armour, the biggest sponsor of the Duck Dynasty family's business, will continue to support the Robertson family even though it disagrees with patriarch Phil Robertson's comments to GQ that were deemed to be "anti-gay" and for which he was suspended.
Under Armour sponsors the Duck Commander business that Phil Robertson founded.
"We have no plans to change our current relationship," Under Armour told TMZ before saying that Robertson's comments "are not indicative of Under Armour's views."
Under Armour's views are similar to those of TMZ editor Harvey Levin, who happens to be gay. Levin said though he did not agree with Robertson's views or comments, his comments were "religious" and "not hate-based." Levin said Robertson has a right to express his views and A&E should not have suspended him.
The Under Armour website says the Duck Commander shirts are currently sold out.
-
Why are we hearing that Phil said something hateful? He just discribed how gay men mate, if they are ashamed then they must know it is wrong!
-
I don't have a link, but I heard a brief news quip that A&E network had 6 million fewer viewers in the last 24 hours than normal.

From the Sheriff of that county:
The suspension of “Duck Dynasty” star Phil Robertson by the A&E Network after making controversial remarks in GQ magazine regarding homosexuality has been called a business decision. But now Douglas County Sheriff Phil Miller is making a business decision of his own.
Miller announced on his personal Facebook page Friday night that A&E would no longer be welcomed to film or produce any of its programs or series with the help of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office or its facilities.
"A&E has suspended Phil Robertson for talking about his conservative Christian beliefs," Miller wrote." None of us are without sin and I am not judging anyone. I am sure A&E made what they believe is a good business decision. Many people who disagree with A&E might choose to remain silent and there was a time when I might have done the same, but no longer. In my mind the punishment is unreasonable.
"I know it will not matter to A&E, but it will make me feel better. A&E has produced more than a half dozen programs with the assistance of the Douglas County Sheriff's Office. They will not do any more with my assistance while I am sheriff. It is time for someone other than Hollywood and the news media to stand up for what is right!"
Miller pointed out that if you look closely at what Robertson said, he was saying that he would not judge anyone. In fact, Miller said, Robertson said that he would leave that up to God and only gave his understanding of scripture.

Funny thing about Cracker Barrel, from reports I've read, is that it seems they are only pulling SOME products....which, to me, is even worse than pulling them all. It means you still want to pander to fans of the show and garner the money, but also cater to the gay community....
Too spineless to make a true stand, one way or the other, and only go half-hearted.....just like DC politicians, trying to sit the fence and placate all involved....you can't serve two masters (now where did that come from?).
Sad.....it truly is sad.
I don't eat there often, but for now I'm done with Cracker Barrel Old Country Store..... just on 'general principal' alone.
(Stubborn, I know....and maybe even ineffective in the grand scheme of things.....but I'm like that)

From Cracker Barrel's FB page:
Cracker Barrel’s mission is Pleasing People. We operate within the ideals of fairness, mutual respect and equal treatment of all people. These ideals are the core of our corporate culture.
*(Unless you are conservative Christians)*
We continue to offer Duck Commander products in our stores.
We removed selected products which we were concerned might offend some of our guests while we evaluate the situation.
We continually evaluate the products we offer and will continue to do so.

In a Faith where a sin is a sin I debate with myself on what I am about to say, but that has never stopped me before:
What A&E is doing is worse than what they accuse Phil Robertson of. Phil is being true to his Faith in his God and commitment. Phil stated simply that he could not see the attraction of one human part when he had another available. The left is trying to hide behind this so called vulgar statement, when Phil used no words that would not be allowed in public conversation. What really set everybody off was that Phil quoted God's Word. A&E is choosing public opinion and feelings over a centuries old and proven document and foundation of Faith. This is like me choosing to ban guns because modern society knows the only reason they exist is to kill everybody in town, when we all know the reason and purpose of the Constitution of the United States and the facts on killing from the FBI ;)
-

I've seen it though I don't watch it regularly. It's completely contrived in my opinion and about as much reality as anything else on the air these days which ain't much...
The Robertsons appear to be a loving Christian family who've convinced A&E to chronicle their shenanigans and advertise their products for the hunting industry. They capitalized on the notoriety and should do well. It's pretty obvious that A&E needs them more than they need A&E!
-
Here is some insight into the show that is public knowledge but is being ignored:
1. The show is scripted;
2. The show is based on actual family adventures;
3. Phil Robertson came from a lifestyle where he worked for what he had and was able to go to college;
4. Phil lost everything he had, and what he didn't lose he threw away;
5. Phil turned his life around, regained his family, and he grew a multi-million dollar business from nothing more than a hunting lifestyle and dream to create a better tool;
6. The Robertsons do not need the show, and will continue to do just fine with or without it.
The producers and writers sit with the family and listen to the family share about life. It is like a group of friends in hunting camp or back home remembering hunting camp.
The thing that is confounding both the media and our morally corrupt population is that they can not understand that somebody would give up fame rather than compromise their Faith or family.
-
after reading Glenn Beck's offer to them, I don't think they would be giving up that much fame either.
If they are contractually able and Beck's offer is valid, I'd be gone in a heart beat.
I suspect that Phil's suspension, being non-permanent, was so they could leave that door open if this proved to be a poor business decision.
If I were the Robertson family I'd just treat it as a business decision.
Tell A&E that A&E made their decsion and n ow we make ours...good bye, A&E.
-
Solus,
To me the only question is if they go to Beck. This is the second time that A&E has tried to muzzle their expression of Faith. It was made clear last time and again this time.
The question is whether they want to continue messing with the whole tv thing or not. My view is that right now they are looking at how the show fits into the Ministry and family structure, not the other way around.
-

It seems all the excitement over this is starting to subside, I suppose the opportunity for a push back against some of our double standards is fading.

Cracker Barrel heard/saw the public backlash regarding Phil's statement and has put the rest of D/D's items back on the shelves. There are a bunch of fools that run corporations and not unlike politicians they are more worried about being PC than they are of dying.

Cracker Barrel was hurting A & E not the Robertsons, they didn't back down because of customers. Anything marked with the word Dynasty is under license to A & E and anything Commander is the family brand.

My family is from the south, grew up in the same time frame as phil( a little before actually) they said the same thing, there was no diffrence between the poor black and the poor white. they lived in the same part of town and in the same conditions. having worked all over the nation in construction. The south was the least racist part of the country, white, black, asain, latin, every one was the same. No entitlement crap, no "the man keeps me down" now the midwest on the other hand, way racist, only from black to white. its sad that race plays such a big part in this country. me, i only care that your money is green.
-
What are we gonna do when the race baiter(s) Sharpton & Ol'Jessie pass? At least they aren't on the gubment dole or are they?
-
i forget which one owns the liquor distrubting rights for chicago... A real rev, any guess how much of their business comes frome people on the dole?
-
98% ?

If you are going by chicgo voting standards it would 143%

;)
-
Jackson has been doing this for over 4 decades. It's what he does, shakedown people or companies for money with the promise to not play the race card on them. I hope the Robertson's call him what he is. A worthless extortionist who is in it for the buck, and nothing else. This has nothing to do with blacks, Rosa Parks, the guy who drove her bus, or anything else he can cook up.

A&E Backs Down on Phil Robertson’s ‘Duck Dynasty’ Suspension...

-
Funny how things work out, heh folks?
-
The reversal is all about the money...... A&E still doesn't support Phil's point of view nor his right to express it (if they did, they never would have suspended him)....they are just looking at revenue loss and the bottom line.....they lose less by reversing because the LGBT community is such a minute segment of the demographic for Duck Dynasty.
And while it makes sense from a business standpoint....it shows flip-flop spinelessness, just like Cracker Barrel.
-
just proves to me they are spinless. they made a choice, they should stand by it.

As ALWAYS....Money talks and bull$h!t walks. The only question now is who is uncle Jesse going to hitch his extortion caboose to next?
