Not sure what to make of this. I would love to put battery operated video trail cameras up to see what mischief was actually
afoot. Could it be planted? Would you go there by yourself to practice?

Somehow I double posted. Sorry. I hope it can be fixed without too much trouble.

No it's probably true, it is a symptom of the irresponsible conduct of the "The world revolves around me" society at large.

Based on some past experiences I have learned not to be too quick to jump to obvious conclusions especially when those obvious conclusions fit so neatly into a stereotypical agenda presented by "the others".
The first thing to do in a case like this would be to discover whose fingerprints are on all those plastic shotgun hulls. Follow the paperwork trail back to the source and you may find a bin of reloading supplies in a store far, far away.
The beer can, for instance, looked inappropriately shiny in the photograph.
Remember, Matthew Brady staged battle scene photographs as far back as The War Between the States.
Best regards,

This could be completely legitimate or not. What bothers me is the idea presented that anyone who is not a hunter but has a gun is a shooter and is a drunken littering lout.
The picture of the fire pit doesn't say anything about people "playing with guns"...it's people playing with FIRE.
These hikers have probably walked past dozens of sites where people have shot and never knew it because they were RESPONSIBLE SHOOTERS. Are these people saying that no HIKERS ever leave a beer can or a twinkie wrapper on the trail?
There are A**holes in every group, and people who leave a mess behind them are A**holes pure and simple. Painting any non-hunter with a gun as they have, these people who posted this stuff are even bigger A**holes.
That's propaganda pure and simple...real or fabricated, it's a load of crap that we should oppose but certainly not take to heart. These people are jackasses.

Would I say that it is all faked? Sadly, no. I have been to areas like this. I have also been to 'informal' shooting ares that are always well policed (as in picked up) and in good shape.
We (gunners) are always saying we need to stand up to the antis, well we need to stand up to these type of idiots as well. Don't drag a washing machine into the forest to shoot and FOR SURE don't leave it there.
Old saying goes something about not fouling your nest.

There is a reason for public ranges and that is to keep this type of thing from happening and to make sure you know where everyone is at . You never know where a innocent hiker maybe.
