search-foo not working well, hope no one else started a thread on this. Couldn't decide whether this was politics, handguns or defense tactics... toss up. Cafe wins.
BART officer shoots and KILLS another officer while searching a home.

I feel bad for the officer and and his family.
The article leave so many unanswered questions.
- Why are transit officers searching a home?
- Was there a suspect at the residence?
- Why did the other officer have his gun drawn?
- Or did the offending officer find a gun on the premises and didn't know how to unload it.
- What level of training do these officers receive? (Broke at least 3 of the 4 prime directives. Maybe all four see above.)
- Accident? Negligence.

From the story:
Nelson told KCBS it’s not unusual for BART police to carry out probation searches and that it’s part of their job.
"It obviously has something to do with a crime that occurred in the BART system and they were just following up on it," he said.
