Thanks Majer...I'm in, who knows maybe since I was directed to the contest by this fourm I may even have a chance. God knows the only place I've ever won a contest was here.

I'm in too
Ranger Dave

Count me in.
-
Posted up on FB. I'm in and I don't own a .223- yet! ;D
-
OK, I threw into to it. Magoo if you win and ...since you don't have a .223.... it would be very thoughtful of you to offer it in a 2nd contest here on the Downrange board...I'm just sayin'....
-
Got an e-mail saying a woman in Texas named Dana won it...Bummer it wasn't one of us
-
This is a scam, we all know 233 does not exist lol

Until I got that email I was hoping someone on the board won the ammo.
And Tab...223/5.56 we got...it's 22LR we can't get! :o

Pretty much the same here. You just can't find it for 30 cents a round anymore.
-
See I can find 22 just not much else

A few of my favorite spots for .223/5.56:
http://www.midwayusa.com/find?newcategorydimensionid=9781&cm_vc=PopCat (http://www.midwayusa.com/find?newcategorydimensionid=9781&cm_vc=PopCat) Mioway USA of course...Need I say more?
http://www.greyfoxinc.com/ (http://www.greyfoxinc.com/) Owned by a friend of mine. He's a great trainer and has cameo'd on The Best Defense a few times.
http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ammunition/rifle-ammunition/223-5-56.html (http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/ammunition/rifle-ammunition/223-5-56.html) These guys have about everything AR and had the best supply of 5.56 SOST back when. They also have a good supply of all other calibers.
http://www.natchezss.com/specials.cfm?contentID=specials&spcGrp=11 (http://www.natchezss.com/specials.cfm?contentID=specials&spcGrp=11) Used to be best price on .223...now not so much but they just marked down the other day so I think .223 is going to fall some more shortly.
http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/index.php/cName/rifle-ammo-223-556 (http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/index.php/cName/rifle-ammo-223-556) These guys have all ammo and also have AP products like Raufoss for those who can own them.
http://wideners.com/itemview.cfm?dir=18|830|845 (http://wideners.com/itemview.cfm?dir=18|830|845) Best all around place for stable prices I've found. Usually on the edge on lowest .223 prices...but they want going prices + for IMI right now...however their Privi Partisan and Wolf gold are coming in on low side of prices.
http://unammo.com/ (http://unammo.com/) Not a bad place for 50 BMG. These were the only guys I could find with SOST rounds for .308. Not the cheapest place you can find.
http://jandcsales.com/223.html (http://jandcsales.com/223.html) Bought several thousand rounds 5.56 back when I could still get it shipped for $340/1000.
Some of these guys have 22 LR at $50 plus per box of 500 or so...I'll wait. 22LR seems to be just around the corner as it is starting to show up at gun stores, etc. I think in 3 months we will begin to see supply enough that these crazy prices will begin to collapse to around $25 per 500.
Just did a 22 inventory and I'm sending a few thousand rounds to auction because I think 22 is going to be back and the risk of not having any is acceptably low for me. Local auction is bringing $150/box of 500 +/-. After fees, etc. it's looking like $100 on a box.
My inventory is getting low on most all stuff I'm going to have to be a buyer soon or stop going to the range. I never thought the shortage would last this long....Uncle Fudd must have woken up that last time when they screamed confiscation.

Update. Palmetto State selling 55 gr AE fmj for $375/1000 this morning....jump on it if you need it.
-
I was getting peeved, all these recommendations, I only have a little 5.56 but, I don't want to belabor the credit card.
Then my eye fell on the DATES ;D
I feel somewhat better. ;D
Back then TAB had about the best score .22 got REAL scarce for a while.
Scarce enough that Aguilla built a new factory just for 22 .
-
I just looked at the date on Rastus' post of February 26, 2014 after I read the last 2 posts on the thread. Too late to jump on that deal. :-\
-
Some one bumped the thread this morning with a recommendation.
But it's gone now.
-
I never expected this thread to come back to life.
-
A lady new member shared a link for ammo, but it's gone now.
-
I think it was a spam link.
-
I don't know. She had a post in New members.
-
I was thinking about the subject of this thread.
I may hold a drawing so that you can, WIN EXPENSIVE AMMO.
-
I was about to post something about keeping the good stuff.
But 2 motorcycles went by with side cars. Old fashion style, either new Ural's or old Royal Enfields.

Maybe 2 wheel drive?
-
Can't see that far to tell. ;D
-
Maybe 2 wheel drive?
If the sidecar wheel was even with the rear wheel of the motorcycle, it may be,if forward, the just 1 wheel drive.

IIRC the Germans used a Zundapp, or BMW that had a chain drive off the bikes chain.
I didn't look that close.

I took a look at Ural's website and of the 8 models they show only 1 of them is 1WD only. I didn't know any of them were. The other 7 are on-demand 2WD so you only turn it on when you need it. If you look straight across from one side to the other on the 2WD Ural you can see the end of the fender on the sidecar is straight across from the brake disk on the motorcycle. The sidecar wheel is well ahead of the rear wheel on the motorcycle but most of the pictures on their site are on an angle so the hubs look like they're in line.
