Title: McCain's VP
Post by: someguy on June 11, 2008, 05:49:36 PM
Some are suggesting that Herr Bloomberg could be McCain's VP choice.

I sure as #$$%^$ hope not.  There is no more sure way to lose the gun vote.

I think you got that one wrong. Bloomberg is on the list being vetted as Obama's VP not McCain according to what I have been reading.

I note that today the three person Obama vetting team is down to one in another scandal. No change, just politics as usual for the Democrats or the Republicrats.

With the economy the way it is his only choice may be Romney.

If this is true, all bets are off!

I do not expect McCain to be able to physically survive his first term, he looks sick, his pallor, everything about him screams end of the line medically. I may be wrong, I am only going off how he looks in photos and on TV.

Therefore his choice of VP is essential, and if it is a gun-grabber like Bloomberg, I will back freakin' Mickey Mouse before I vote for McCain.

I will not back that surrender monkey Barr, so that takes us 2A supporters back to the very point when Fred left the campaign - looking for someone to hold or noses and vote for.

As one of the guys in Easy Rider said, this used to be a hell of a country. What happened?    >:(  >:(  >:(

It will not be Bloomberg.  I have a better chance of being on the ticket than him!

My bets are on Romney, Crist, or Pawlenty.

There is a move to draft Sarah Palin, Gov of Alaska

I could get behind having Palin on the ticket.  She seems to a) actually have a brain and b) use it fairly regularly.

I saw an interview on Glenn Beck with her.  She definitely has her act together.

I don’t know if Palin is in the running anymore.  From what I have read about her I would like to see her on the ticket but her short time in an executive position gives pause.  She has been only governor of Alaska for two years and prior to that she was the Mayor of some town there.  While she has more executive management experience than Bro’O, it may not be enough.

Secondly, I don’t think she wants to move to DC.  When one thinks about that, no matter what the job may be; moving from Alaska to DC would be like going from eating apple pie to eating dry dog food.

He won't pick me... he already has a blond nagging him. LOL

I really want to hear from you guys on what you think of Mitt Romney as VP.
He is .. my opinion.. a smart business man. and I think maybe a good move on McCains part to choose him.

(What say you?)

ANTI GUN, BIG TIME. He was the one who had a chance to veto Ma. Assault weapons ban (a permanent ban unlike clintons) But instead he signed it into law. He's not much better (IF AT ALL) than Rudy G. If he's such a good business man why isn't he in business ? Instead he's sucking up the "easy money" in politics.
If we need a busness oriented VP, I'd MUCH rather see Steve Fienberg.

I would be a great VP! Damn it!

Pro-gun ... pro-life ... capable of feeding myself ... never shot anyone hunting ... believe we need to kill Islamo-nuts ... drill anywhere at anytime for oil ... believe we should build a fence and mine the borders ... currently unemployed (until I start my new job in MT in two weeks) ... have all my hair (it's blonde too!) and teeth ... and I know a kick-ass margarita recipe.

What I don't like about Romney?  Anti gun and a prolific flip-flopper.  It's OK to change position on an issue if the issue changes.  For instance, we shouldn't go to war BUT when some Islamo-nuts blows up a US Marine barrack or flies a plane into one of our building ... it's time to fix bayonets to stop that shit ... and get some payback.  But to flip-flop for political gain, Romney is in the same league with John Kerry and Barack Hussein Obama.  While Romney is a sharp dude when it comes to business, I don't like him.  Bets are on Romney, Pawlenty, or Crist.  Outside bets on Condi Rice, Carley Fiorina, and Kay Bailey Hutchison.

All the same, I don't think the Republican ticket could get any worse than ANYTHING that Barack Hussein Obama fields to run with him. I mean, a McCain/Satan ticket would be better than any B-HO ticket!  But, then again … that would be a fun VP debate to watch.  For instance, B-HO picks John Edwards.  Edwards would be standing at the podium with his new $500 haircut (he had a coupon) pontificating his liberal tripe about the “two Americas” and then the Devil would counter with, "Remember Johnny, you sold your soul to me to be a lawyer! I own you! You are my bitch!"  The Devil then snaps his fingers and with a bright flash and a cloud of nasty gasses, John Edwards has his head shaved and is on the body of a Chihuahua.

Yeah sure.  A McCain/Beelzebub ticket would cost the vote of the Christian right.  But it’s still better than having Obama as President.

Romney is a RINO.

There seems to be the expected fracturing of the Democrats as the VP selection process moves forward.  My thoughts on the McCain VP choice.

The selection of the VP is more critical here than anywhere else as McCain making through one term is even odds now and the odds will get shorter and shorter as the campaign moves deeper into the summer.

Lindsey Graham:  Good conservative credentials.  Knows his way around D.C. (good and bad).

Mike Huckabee:  Strong with evangelicals and professes a gun friendly posture.  Frankly, I've had enough from Arkansas for a while.

Mitt Romney:  Great economic credentials but from what I can tell hasn't a single Republican bone in his body.  Left an incredible legacy in Salt Lake City from the Winter Olympics.  Surrounded by the right people might make a great president but does not appear to have his heart into preserving and extending the Second Amendment.

Tim Pawlenty:  Has the governor credentials but is the only other politician out there who makes McCain look exciting.  Not a great pairing with someone who lacks inspirational speaking abilities.

Bobby Jindal:  Needs some more experience and is currently reeling from backlash at his apparent cooperation with the Louisiana legislature to more than double their salaries during tight economic times.  A future with Sarah Palin and Bobby Jindal does promise a bright future for the GOP.

Rudy Giuliani:  Not then. Not now. Not ever.

Michael Bloomberg:  Is probably on both candidates list.  While marginally better than Giuliiani, it's not by enough of a margin and the thought of any New York politician taking over the White House makes my head hurt.

Haz ... who can he pick that folks won't be saying it's like the R(h)ino exhibit at the public zoo?

If he doesn't pick me, I still would like to see Fred Thompson on the ticket.

Fred, The Govenors of Alaska or La., Kay Bailey Hutchison, I'm sure there are others.

Good question.

Last I heard ... Obama is expected to pick Richardson.

McCain's choices are down to four:
Romney
Palenty
Hutchison
Hazcat
