Hooray for me!!! I just got my CCW today after a little over a three month wait. And because it's NY it's the unCCW stamped for Hunting and Target only but what the heck... it's a start. Now, as soon as I get my pick up slips, I can collect my Colt Lightweight Commander, S&W 686 6" and Ruger Mark I Target.
Nobody here at work will fully understand my excitement so I needed to vent off some energy... ok carry on. ;D

Congratulations! ;D
I heard a rumor from a former NY resident that pizza delivery drivers can get carry permits. If that's true...might not be a bad 2nd job. ::)

Congratulations !!! I am from Upstate also. What I have is a license to carry concealed, with outdoor sports restriction. Just remember, you are always just returning or leaving for a "hike". That is what the county clerk told me. Best of luck. ;D

Congratulations!
I'm in upstate NY (Rochester area) and didn't know that there were different types of carry permits in NY. How many are there? Are they specific to a certain county?
My nephew just got his CCW, took six months, but it is a true CCW, actually a permit to carry a weapon concealed, since you're not supposed to carry open.

Thanks all... I knew I'd get some enthusiasm here.
unique, you're right there is only one CCW in NY. What I should have mentioned was that different counties have their own spin on things... mine apparently rarely gives ones without rubber stamping restrictions on it. I'm too jazzed at the moment to be particularly bothered by the restrictions.
saltydogbk, good advice on the "hike". Looks like I'll be doing quite a bit of hiking in the future. ::)

Jimmie, lad, best not to go poking at the hornet's nest. The poor boy has enough issues as it is.

Congratulations!!!! I'm sure its a tough thing to get in the land of Schumer and Hillary. Don't let it expire!!! :o
You might not be able to get it back.

Big Saucy, Wait about a month or so and get an application for a Pa. Non Resident carry permit, Once you get that fill it out and take it to your Sheriffs office and ask if you can get the restriction removed because you need an unrestricted NY CCW to get the Pa permit. I have friends who are in Orange County NY that have gotten the full carry permit that way.

Thank Majer. Great advice. Though it's a County Judge that makes that decision for me.
Currently it's a lifetime permit... but should that change you can be sure I'll be holding on tight to this one twyacht.
Though I have a lot of accessories to buy, I should be ready to shoot my club's next ICORE match... hopefully the USPSA match too. ;D
