THE FROG THEORY
If you drop a frog in boiling water he will leap right out. If you slowly heat the water he will be content until it's too late to get out.
That is exactly how history works. It moves slowly and we never really see any danger until it's too late.
Remember how suppressed workers were before unions came along? The unions leveled the playing field. Unfortunately, over a long period of time the pendulum swung too far. Slowly, businesses and factories closed and jobs left the country. We were comfortable and didn't see the change coming. We blamed everyone except ourselves for what happened. We weren't alert to how slow things change over time.
World War II, and the Korean War, demonstrated how powerful a united nation could be. Our nation, and our families, were united. The father was the head of the family and the President was the head of the nation. Both were highly respected. We were content and happy.
We were good at fighting a hot war but we were unprepared to fight a cold war with the communists in the 50's. They knew they couldn't change us but they didn't care. Their philosophy was to wait it out and capture the minds of our children. They loaded our colleges with many of their professors and waited. It didn't take long to see the results.
The 60''s ushered in the radicals, drug culture, student protesters, and the Vietnam War. The aim of the cold war was to divide and conquer.
They divided our families and the nation. The secret to defeating a polite and respectful people is to scream. The louder and longer you scream the better your chance of winning. Radicals are masters at this form of attack. They know if you constantly scream and repeat a lie it will eventually become the truth.
The media, and Hollywood, hammered us with hate America themes and stories. Our service men, and women, were jeered, cursed, and spit on.
Even the people, who latter wanted to become their President, thrashed them. We lost our first War in history. There was no hero's homecoming for our fighting men and women.
The Reverend King, who was raised in the old school, peacefully changed the race issue and united the people. When he died the new breed of leaders like the Jesse Jackson's, Lewis Farakon,'s Al Sharpton's, and Rev. Wright's put a lid on his efforts and turned racism into a money making machine.
Corporations were green-mailed by threats of protests, product boycotts, or endless lawsuits.
Every issue, large or small, became a race issue. The public recoiled in fear of being called a racist. Their voices were silenced because one word could cost you a career, get you fired, or get you sued.
Even politicians buckled under to the pressure. The Florida legislature issued a formal apology for having slavery 200 years ago. They were thanked by being asked for compensation. There is no end in sight for this kind of nonsense. America didn't capture slaves and bring them to
America. Their own people sold them to slave traders from several nations. This knowledge doesn't stop the screamers. History is what it is and you can't change it. There have been many tragic events in history. You acknowledge them and move on.
They divided our nation into two separate Americas. We now have Americans, and African-Americans, although Africa has nothing to do with being an American. You can be one or the other but not both. You are what you were born to be. You do not subordinate our country to any foreign nation. It's equivalent to flying the African flag above the Stars and Stripes. If you hyphenate two countries America always comes first.
This election year could be the turning point in our history because the frog theory has come into play. It's time to step back and look at how the country has slowly changed since the cold war started. Don't get caught up in all the hype. George McGovern was the first Presidential candidate to test the waters with college students. The Clinton's played a big role in his
campaign. It was the worst campaign ever run. He was crushed in the election.
Step two was to infiltrate all the information vehicles such as radio, newspapers, magazines, TV and movies. They were quite successful at that. Jimmy Carter was the first President to demonstrate the leadership skills of the far left. Weak military, high taxes, runaway inflation, 19% mortgage rates, and plain incompetence ended his career in Washington. Iran, a small country at the time, took American hostages and kicked sand in our face. By negotiating from weakness Carter could not get the hostages released.
The big benefit of the Carter years is that they were followed by the Reagan years. The nation got a clear look at the difference between a weak nation and a strong nation. Every student should know this difference. When Ronald Reagan took over the hostages were quickly released, taxes were lowered, inflation dropped, mortgage rates dropped, and the military was strengthened. Russia quickly waved the white flag and waited for another Democrat term.
Clinton took over Carters uncompleted social programs. He weakened the military and tried to pass large government programs. An Intern derailed his Presidency. While he was tied up with his personal problems his lawyers ran the country. He passed up three opportunities to take Osama Bin Laden. This eventually cost us the loss of our Twin Towers, thousands of American lives, and got us involved in a war with Iraq.
By the end of his term the left had captured a large share of the media and it flexed its muscle in 2000. The hate Bush campaign got off to a roaring start. The brainwashing theory of repeating the same story over and over again was launched.
There were endless stories about our evil nation and its President. Top-secret plans were leaked to the press and printed for the entire world to see. Hollywood cranked out documentaries about the evil Bush administration and our evil military. They laid the groundwork for the next election. The ACLU flooded the courts with lawsuits and the Democrat party became a law firm. Almost every incumbent, or his or her spouse, is a lawyer.
They now have the perfect candidate because they can squash criticism by playing the race card.
If you don't like Obama, or criticize him, you are a racist. They can hide his inexperience and background by turning him into a rock star and singing change and hope. They don't tell us what kind of change, or how it will be done, only that you should hope for the best. By keeping the hype going they don't have to put anything of substance on the table.
The only thing we really know about Obama is that his wife has never been proud to be an American. They want us to believe that his liberal college professors, Rev. Pfleger, his ties to radicals Bill Ayer and Lewis Farakon, and listening to the Rev. Wright's hate talks for 20 years, had no influence on his thinking. If they didn't, then who did? He wasn't in business and didn't see fit to serve his country. These people launched his political career and their organizations received earmarks in return for their campaign donations and political help. They must have had some influence.
Rev. Wright's church received over $15 million. That's only one small local church. Think on a national scale.
The change being promoted is a change back to the Carter years. It started in 2006 when the lawyer party took over. There have been endless lawsuits and investigations in retaliation for the Clinton years. It keeps the lawyers busy but does nothing for the economy. The economy has been in a downward spiral since they took over.
Returning to the Carter years of high taxes, high inflation, and a weak military is not the change we are looking for. We cannot cower to a bunch of crazies whose only goal in life is to kill us.
The old sage's (over 50) will have to play a big role in this election. The young people simply don't know what the aged know. The advantage of aging is the knowledge you accumulated. You know what United States means. You know what the seldom-heard word respect means. You know how wonderful freedom and independence is. You know the difference between a strong and a weak nation; and you know what it takes to keep it strong.
You know history because you have lived it.
Although the old guard is dying off, and getting too tired to fight, they have to muster one more charge. If they don't, our children, and grandchildren, will never know the joy and freedom that is the bedrock of our country. The heat is slowly being turned up and the water is getting hot. The old frogs better start jumping before it's too late.

On election day if the people vote with the ability to think of the past history of how things have been and can see the trend the voters will see that we need to once again to be a strong viable nation that can put the people back to work by opening up the closed down factoiries, steel mills and electronic technology that has been sold to other countries, and Have a strong military . I believe tat we are still a nation of proud people and set this country on a true course.

Geez Marshal'ette, you are becoming more philosophical by the day, thank you for keeping us focused.
You do not subordinate our country to any foreign nation. It's equivalent to flying the African flag above the Stars and Stripes. If you hyphenate two countries America always comes first.
I'm waiting on your book. Thanks again. Never stop. Ever Forward.

WOW M'ette
Way to keep us pointed in the right direction. :)
Laughs, sometimes tears you do it all !!!
Your the best ;D :)

GREAT READ! Thank you for sharing!
Nikita Krushchev once said that they could never take America directly into Communism without first taking America into Socialism. When you think of this and what Obama stands for as this author pointed out, it is indeed a wake-up call for the generations.
America must defeat Barack Hussein Obama in November.
-
TR said there is no place in this country for Hyphenated Americans, you are either entirely an American or you don't belong here.
-
When you stop and really think about the past and present how can you not worry about the future?
- The US has no healthcare even in a basic form to take care of the people who fuel this nation. Those who have no employer provided healthcare have only two choices 1) Pay an arm and leg for a policy of there own or 2) Wait until something ahappens and live in debt paying off medical bills until they die.
- The price of fuel has absolutly nothing to do with supply, it is 100% market future trading. If fuel was removed from this assinine way of day trading the price would drop by half in less than one month.
Every sorry SOB is just out to get rich anymore and this will be our downfall in any situation. Everything from services to heathcare is halfassed and 10 times more expensive than it should be.
I also just shake my head when I see what todays youth is turning into, highschool guys no longer look the part of jock or prep but rather that of surfer dude slim fellow. Shirts that used to say "300lb benchpress club" have most likely been replaced with "weight lifting is gross" t-shirts. Then throw in the pathetic anorexic "trend" that has consumed girls these days and wow what a future. Not to mention no one seems to have real friends anymore they have all been replaced with internet pals and texting buddies very few know what going outside and doing things or having real face to face friends is anymore.
I love the US and what we stand for but lately it seems as if we have let our guard down and morals take a back seat.

Cody you are mistaken about one point. Healthcare institutions are REQUIRED to provide medical care to patients REGARDLESS OF THEIR ABILITY TO PAY. There is no lack of healthcare in this country. There are people who do not have health INSURANCE, but let's not confuse lack of insurance with lack of healthcare.
-
Make that 2, a large part of our fuel costs are due to the exchange rate and weak dollar.

At the same time though that will then make you part of the paying medical bills until you die section.
Also it is only a requirement for them to get you to a stabilized state if you come in under emergency circumstances. As for sugeries that are non emergency or instantly life treatening you are quite simply screwed without high dollar insurance.

Hi m, WOW you hit the nail on the head !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I agree but there is one more thing , there will aways be people who will follow, they are the weak ones, we must all be STRONG !!!!!!!!!!!!

I take offense to this statement: "Remember how suppressed workers were before unions came along? The unions leveled the playing field. Unfortunately, over a long period of time the pendulum swung too far. Slowly, businesses and factories closed and jobs left the country."
I live in Flint, MI, where the UAW and GM were both founded. I am UAW member and a disabled GM worker. Is OSHA protection from unsafe working conditions too much too ask for? Several people I worked with are now amputees. The unions got us what little protection we have. Should we really have LESS safety regulations? We have healthcare, however limited our choices are. Should we have no healthcare at all? We got paid overtime for any work beyond 40 hours a week. Should overtime pay be eliminated? We also made enough money to live on. Should wages be slashed to $1 a day to compete with third world countries? Labor costs are a small percentage pf the cost of a new car, or other manufactured goods. U.S. companies say they want cheaper labor but the price of the foreign made crap is the same as U.S. made. They use cheap labor to get higher profits but not lower the prices. The unions have nothing to do with that. It's just a bunch of companiles lusting for money. Don't blame corporate greed on the unions. They couldn't force us to work 7 days a week, just 6. Should they be allowed to make us work EVERY day until we retire? Everyone who works for a living benefits from all the things unions have fought so hard for, whether they belong to a union or not. If we didn't have unions we would be forced to work double shifts every day without even having a minumum wage. It you think I exaggerating you don't know the history of workers rights and what a struggle it was to get anything. People are no longer beaten with clubs for trying to organize a union and get better working conditions. Does anyone honestly believe the old way was better? The pendulum has not swung too far. Corporate greed HAS gone too far. Who deserves to be a multi-billionaire while their underpaid workers are losing their homes?
-
Jumbo Frank,
I too am a retired GM worker, but from the salaried side. I have to respectfully disagree with you. Now it is the Unions that are greedy and have too much power. I still support the union, but I think they are killing the US Auto industry. And they are spending your dues money to support only the Democrats and positions that the rank and file may not support e.g. 2A no matter what -- I think that is wrong. Having said that I think the union movement has helped everyone. I also think the unions will be part of the solution. I think they now realize that they must help not just confront and demand or there will be no company to fuss at or work for.
Just grousing because GM stock is at a 53 year low. That is not entirely the fault of management. Congress and the unions need to step up and take a share of the blame. The pendulum is due to swing back part of the way.

I'm not sure what you mean by high dollar, I had a $65,000 heart attack that cost me $35 per week plus $100

Well I own a Property Services company and bust my ass day in and day out and then have to pay what seems to be taxes on taxes. It is people like me that are paying for wars I don't belive in and other overpriced government projects the least they could do is make sure affordable health care is something I need not worry about.

I'm a Machine operator I've never actualy worked in a union shop, except as a Temp in a shop in Ca. I Have however interviewed at 3 union shops, 2 in Ca. 1 in NH, In all 3 cases the Union shop offered me 25% less in start pay than non union shops were offering with similar Bennies. Add in initiation fees and dues and it amounts to ABOUT 1/2 the hourly wage offered by NON union shops.
Another impression is that unions are divisive influence in what SHOULD be a team . True that management can shuffle paper all day long and accomplish nothing with out the Laborers on the shop floor. But by the same token, Laborers can work all day long and still starve with out management to buy materials sell product and atend to administration.
I had heard this as an Urban Legend type story earlier but as a Temp I actualy SAW this, I was operating a Bridgeport Milling maching tapping some parts, I spilled some tapping fluid which I put speedy Dry on then began sweeping up the speedy dry from MY mess at MY machine, My lead man came to me and said, " What are you doing ? We pay people to sweep the floor." That strikes me as just plain WRONG.
On top of these things, I cannot see the sense in taking below average pay to belong to a devisive group that supports Politicians I oppose.
I understand that Labor needed some form of organization to break the Company store mentalityof some employers. However I would point out that the only reason OUR unions are not out right Communist organizations is because they are more or less controlled by oorganized crime. They seem to have outlived their usefulness and simply become anothermoney making beurocracy with its hand in the working mans pocket.
This is the first time I have been able to present these thoughts to union members, and I am interested in hearing what you both have to say.
-

Healthcare is not a right.
I agree, however I think everyone is looking at this from the wrong end, I understand that some of the cost of medication is used to pay for development costs and further research, but why should a doctor have a Caddy and a Plane when all his patients walk or drive $500 clunkers. What FUNDAMENTAL differance is there between a $15 - $20 per hour mechanic and a $250 per hour doctor, (The $65+ that the shop charges you is NOT what the mechanic gets) Both trouble shoot the patient then repair, or replace the defective part.
Why does the hospital charge $5 for ONE asperin, or bandaid. When I had my Heart attack I was transported 30 miles in an ambulance, for the $3500 they charged I could have got a Limo and a couple of Hookers and REALLY enjoyed the ride. ;D
-
Well Tom,
The $5.00 aspirin (cheap for a hospital) is caused by 'cost shifting' to pay for those that don't pay their bills. Funny, if I tried to shift the cost of one customer to another I would go out of business because my prices are too high, but if I had a monopoly or a 'critical service' I could get away with it.
I agree somewhat with the Dr salaries, they could be more in line but then we pay entertainers and athletes millions and the guy that takes our garbage and keeps our streets clean next to nothing (except in NY ;) ).
OH, if your heart attack was anything like either of mine, Hookers were the last thing on your mind. ;D

The only discomfort I had was that horse standing on my chest feeling and the, annoying feeling in my left arm, but you know with the blood settling into your lowwer body ;D I was flirting with the X ray tech, I Accepted the fact I no longer had a pulse and so gave up on worrying, I thought it was to late to matter even if I did have a brilliant idea, so I might as well go out with a chuckle, ever since then I've tried to maintain the attitude, F it, I died in 03 no point in letting the little stuff bother me now.

Nope, I just belive that with all of the people out there busting there asses should have the right to affordable healthcare and shouldn't have to worrry about what if health situations.
And why be so cocky about my statements?
I see lazy ass baby making machine white trash getting things handed to them on a silver platter and they don't do shit. I also know people that work only a certian amount of hours so the govt will still send them a weekly check. Then theres the worthless POS sitting on death row for 5 years we feed and house everyday.
So basically yes I feel as if maybe some money could be diverted to help out people that are worth it.
-
Sorry Cody I don't agree. I don't want Gov. help and I don't want to pay for yours either. As far as TAX's go I would rather pay them and [BITCH] than be a slave to RAMA BAMA's idea of the future. ROLLEM and pay the piper his due till your last breath.

Excuse me, "cocky statements"? Have you never had a civilized discussion where people ask questions, give answers and opinions and not indulge in ad hominem attacks?
Next yes, of course there are lazy people everywhere.
So if I inherited money you should have a right to it?
Just from where should this money be diverted? The only things the government is legally allowed to tax me for is to provide for the common defense. Not social security, welfare, education, health care, etc., etc., etc..
-

I agree with you Haz but I don't think Social security should be in your list, in fact it is a perfect example of why Cody is wrong. Originaly FDR set up the system to be a VOLANTARY Government administered retirement account. if the Government can't even run a savings account with out screwing it up what self destructive urges cause you to want them controlling your health care ? Don't take this stuff to personal, we are just discussing a topic here, it's not like disagreeing with one of the basic foundation stones of the website. (That would be AARP ;D )

The price of fuel regulates the prices at stores due to transportation cost. We need to tap into the reserves that we have . It has been pointed out to me that we are paying $140.00 a barrel for oil but we sell grain to them for about $7.00 a bushel. So lets sell them grain at $140.00 a bushel and see how they like it. But have been also told that the NEW WOLRD ORDER will not let us do that. This is the reason that we need to become a stronger nation. ELECT McCain! Not Hussein!

Health care is out of whack because of A LOT of factors. Solid blame lies on a lot of lazy people, trial lawyers (like John Edwards who made butt-load of money suing doctors) and elected officials. Costs would come down if the insurance and pending law suits would go away.
As well, I have not seen a national health care plan by either Dem candidate that makes fiscal sense. Smaller countries can have socialized health care but we are too big UNLESS you want to get hit with more taxes. That's what B-Ho and his large ankled lesbian friend Hillary want to do.
I just got an email from a friend with a picture of Barack (Barry) Hussein Obama, probably in his early twenties and next to him is a picture of John McCain in his early twenties. Obama, is wearing a Muslim outfit while McCain is in his flight suit. The caption says, "You still thinking about Obama? I have a question for you ... Is your head up your ass? Slightly too big to post. I will try to find a way to shrink it a bit ... very funny.

I got that poster in my E mail as well and forwarded it to several folks. One replied making the point that people who will vote for B Ho will not understand as they do not respect our defenders and do not have a problem with sympathizing with people who wish to destroy our country. After reading that My only comment was, Sad and frightning but true :(

Bingo ;D I read somewhere that during the early gunpowder age French army uniforms had reversable facings so that if you were losing you could reverse it and join the enemy, that was the origin of the phrase "Two faced", don't know how true it is because the Roman God Janus had 2 oppossing faces as well, but it fits with these comments ;D

I don't think your on the same page here this isn't a me vs the world thing it is a diversion of funds for a greater good. I am not the only person in the USA that busts there ass owning and operating their own business and seems to get the short end of the stick at times namely when it comes to insurance costs and taxes that is fact not opinion.
And why keep saying "so I should pay for your heathcare" mumbo jumbo?
Whith what I make I am 99% sure I pay more in taxes than you so it is my own money at stake here too. So let go of the BS line where you think your paying for my health care what you pay in would also be taking care of your own also.
I would rather see my money I pay in for taxes and such going towards heathcare for those who need it rather than it being thrown away.
