This is kind of funny. Muslims are supposed to take the infidels and subjugate them to Islam. However, Islam doesn’t not believe that Buddhists are infidels … they consider them to be less than infidels and “faithless”. With that, they think that Buddhists should all die.
Maybe Mr. Lama should take a road trip to Mecca?

Well they got one thing wrong for sure, The Dalia Lama left Tibet when CIA supplied resistance collapsed under Chinese tanks after fighting for several years.

The Buddhist view of other religions is very different that most others in that they believe in faith being all-encompassing; for example I've heard (and met) some Buddhists that believe Jesus Christ is an incarnation of Buddha and believe in many of his teachings because they share similarities with theirs.
I've only had a few classes that had the history and tenets of Buddhism in the curricula and I've forgotten a lot of it so this isn't exactly my field but according to some of their philosophies it makes a lot of sense thinking from that point of view. However from a strict semitic religion's perspective it can't be all inclusive; but Buddhism looks at it that way no matter the view of the other. I hope that makes some sense, its very hard to explain; fact it I'm surprised I remembered any of it.

I have heard bits and pieces of Buddism but never really looked at it as I have Christianity or Islam. To this, I need to find out why the radical Islam believes they can convert and/or subjugate Jews and Christians BUT Hindu's and Buddhists are to be killed. Maybe they don't like their orange robes?

Islam is the final semitic religion, like Judaism and Christianity before it they start with Abraham, that is their common thread. To make a convoluted story simple Muslims believe that Islam (meaning "submission") is the final evolution of Christianity and Judaism brought forth my Muhammad the final prophet.
I believe the reason why the terrorists believe that they can convert Christians and Jews is because they are "halfway there" so to speak, and since Buddhists don't believe in God in the same sense as Jews, Christians and Muslims do there isn't any hope for them in their eyes. In a way Buddhist monks really don't believe in Buddha as a deity but as a philosopher, however the more common religion believes Buddha to be a god. My memory is fuzzy on this but I think the names are Theravada and Mahayana; Theravada being the monks version and the other for the more common man.....here's hoping I didn't switch them it was a few years back. :P
It'd really help if I had my old textbook with me, but its half a world away.

So basically Buddhists accept all faiths because faith in a supreme beingregardless of name is faith in a higher power. While Muslims think Buddhists and Hindu's should be killed as they are not "People of the book" as are Christians and Jews.

Yup, that sums it up pretty well. AND makes more sense than what I wrote. ;D

Ah, the Dalai Lama defends Islam. But who then defends the Dalai Lama FROM Islam? Appeasement has been historical unsuccessful. I suggest the Lama invest in a Llama, and start liking it.
Mac.

Mac, Don't worry, The Dalai Lama is supposed to be a man of peace, but his guards, the remains of the Tibetan Army, are some of the toughest little SOB's on the planet.( think Gurkha's, without the British officers) They held off the Chinese for years, till China could get Armor into the area.
The press had little to say about it, but before the Heller decision came down the Dalai Lama also said that" if you try to shoot me I should be able to take MY gun and shoot you."

Then we are all men of peace. 8)

Yes, We are. We don't go looking for trouble but we will not willingly be victims either.
