....to wear the finish off the rear corner of a Glock 27 slide?
One....two-hooo......ten. Ten*.
*Ten years of daily carry (well, I sometimes carry my Commander 1911 during the coldest two months of the year). So factor it at ten months per year of constant (and I do mean constant, as in "even in the home until bed time" - constant).
And, it is only a spot slightly smaller than a pencil eraser on the left corner of the slide that contacts my skin (if worn under a t-shirt) or a t-shirt (if worn under a button-up shirt).
The front sides of the slide are starting to show wear from the holster (SERPA) that I have used for over four years.
**I will add: I carried my Colt 1991 Commander for twelve years constantly prior to downsizing to the G27, and the Parkerized finish held up as well.

and it is probably only the finish over the Tenifer that is worn, not the real protection..

I think you are correct.
The color underneath looks light gray and not like bare metal.
When I get around to it, Ill post a picture.
