Just came across this story.
The video with it is labeled a simulation, so it's accuracy is far from guaranteed. Also, the event is reported to have occurred on Dec. 10, but no year is given....and if it was last year, it is still a 6 month lapse from when the event happened to when the story broke...so don't know what all that means either. The sources for the story seem to be legitimate.
The subject of the pursuit had earlier shot a police officer, was captured and then escaped in a police car which was abandoned for another vehicle. There were two men in the car at the time the police opened fire....both were killed and both were unarmed at the time. One of the men was not involved in the current crime.
If someone can offer a justification for this behavior, I'd like to hear it.
MIAMI (CBSMiami) – On December 10, more than two dozen police officers from across Miami Dade County converged on a blue Volvo that had crashed in the backyard of a townhouse on 65th Street just off 27th Avenue.
As the car was wedged helplessly between a light pole and a tree, nearly a minute passed before officers opened up – firing approximately 50 bullets at the car and the two unarmed men inside the vehicle.
The two men inside the car survived that initial volley of gunfire, according to witnesses, who said they could see the men moving inside the Volvo. Everything went quiet for nearly two minutes before the officers opened up a second time – unleashing an unrelenting torrent of bullets that lasted almost 25 seconds. By the time it was over, the two men inside the car were dead.
CBS4 News has learned a total of 23 officers fired a total of at least 377 rounds.

Having previously shot at cops was sufficient reason to hose down the Boston Marathon bomber .
and then there is this bit of advice.

The cops have been executing a lot of people lately including shooting an unarmed man in the back several times. They seem like they're at war with civilians. They need to start acting like cops, not executioners.
-
What they need to do is start whacking the RIGHT people since the judges just put them back on the street even when they are convicted .
I recall catching hell on this forum for saying that US born members of Al Queda have the same right to a trial as you do and Obama is a murderer for killing them with drone strikes .
PS, Thanks, I was never to sure what a "flash" was. ;D

????
The flash is the second button...and I don't know what it is either!

That's what they do in Brazil, isn't it?

I think the 'flash' is the ability to insert a video powered by Adobe Flash Player.
Or, a polite hat-tip to this guy:

The "media" reports had stated that the suspects were "unarmed", but a quick search found another TV station, with raw video of the shooting, states that another PO was shot from the blue volvo. So if a LEO is shot from the car how could they be unarmed?? I was not there, I am only looking at ALL the reports. Not saying right or wrong, but I do know that if I was taking fire from a volvo, I would return fire and would hope that any friends would assist. Since this occurred 12/10/13, I would think that the MPB/state have concluded their investigations and the info should be available. I would hold my decision before deciding right? wrong?

I noted some anomalies when I first posted..and my concerns were based on the information in the story.
If there was gun fire at the police from the Volvo at that scene then that part of the original story is wrong..and firing on innocents is much less likely to have occurred.
However, the police still released a uncontrolled barrage that would surely land a group of citizens in deep dodo should they have responded to help a friend, as you hope yours would. Houses, other vehicles and other police officers were hit by the uncontrolled fire. If this is deemed acceptable for non-police civilians defending themselves, then it would be ok for police to do so. I don't think it is OK for either group and each should be treated the same and suffer the same consequences starting with apprehension after the shooting.
You will note I posted a link to the source of my information so each of us could make our own conclusions on its accuracy.
I would like you to do the same and I will reserve my acceptance of your version and stick with my original opinion until you do so.
Thanks and take care.
