Post by: Marshal Halloway on June 27, 2014, 03:55:26 PM

Some times fame comes calling from the oddest directions. For the Walther PPK, fame arrived in the form of a letter to the author Iain Fleming. Host Joe Mantegna and numerous experts explore the history of James Bond’s famous firearm.

(catching up so sorry for the late post)

Great episode.   I owned a PPK/s from the late '70s when they were made in Gadsden, AL, until recently.  Mine become unreliable and rather than work on it I upgraded to a S&W Shield 9mm.

Love my PPK/s.  Actually owned several including a German made one in .22lr.

Great to see Gerald McRaney as well as Mamet on the show!

Okay my nit:  Rather than keep repeating "Jame Bond.  Dr. No" a little history of US import and manufacture would have been great.  Including thing like the Gadsden, AL facility.

So since my PPK/s was made in Gadsden, I combined the gun with the flag.  They are related, the city and the flag, btw.
