Title: Need to work on an Interpersonal Relationship?
Post by: Solus on October 13, 2014, 08:41:50 AM
You can try this.   I don't think it will do much good, but if you need to consider it, things might be beyond help.   ;D

The Home Lie Detector Test.

Even the best lie detectors don't work. This wouldn't fair any better.

I didn't check the link but I remember there used to be a computer LD program which seemed to work well.  You could even use it remotely, so to speak.  Someone tried it with Clinton and it determined he was lying about Monica!  Who knew?

FWIW

Wasn't recommending it..

I was just struck by what asking someone, anyone, to submit to it would do to the relationship of the parties involved.

Can't see anything good coming of it.

If they put the clamps on Obama's fingers, the F'ing thing would melt!

Good point Bill !

Lie detectors are actually fairly easy to beat, that's why the results are not admissible in court .
Either convince your self that you are not lying or just answer exactly what is asked, not what the question may imply.
In fact, an innocent person is more likely to fail than some one who makes their living by deceit, lawyers, cops, politicians, and other con artists.

Fine print says that using it on a politician or car salesman will void the warranty....

Come to think of it, though, using it in these two types of relationship might just improve the relationship....

True.  Pro lie detector operators do a good job of phrasing questions in multiple ways to avoid implications.

You don't really need to convince yourself that you are not lying (but that will work)...just that your lying is not wrong.

Muslims, by religious decree, are encouraged to lie to advance Islam.

There are other ways to deal with Muslims. Water boarding has had good results.
I've also heard good things about a catheter and pepper spray.  ;D

(Just thinking about that made my knees slam together  ;D  )

I imagine the main reason to buy this is so someone can practice beating a lie detector.
