A student opened fire today at a high school in Marysville, Washington, police and witnesses said. Up to six people were shot, a federal law enforcement official told CNN's Evan Perez.
Authorities "are confident" that there was only one shooter, a police official said, adding that the shooter was dead.
Marysville-Pilchuck High School is just north of Seattle.
A student who was on lockdown inside a classroom told CNN by phone that the shooting began in the cafeteria.
