Macy the Wundermutt is the first line of defense. If they get past that face-licking, tail-wagging beast of terror, they will have to get past the laser maze. One wrong move, and the Claymores go off and the floor opens up to a pit of angry bears and alligators.
If all that fails, I'll stumble out of bed to the safe and wake up Mr Stoeger.

Mr. Para Ordnance .45.
-
Well for my wife it's Mr Charter's dog.. his .44 Bulldog.
Depending on the floor of the house. In the bedroom it's Sir Gaston. On the main level it's primarily Misters Smith and Wesson. Ditto when I'm outside. Though there some Moss in the laundry room. Some 12 gauge Moss.
However, I've added something new lately.

Meet, Pepe, my little mule. My little 12", 5.56, 30 round magazine, little mule. He get us out of trouble.

Messr's Colt, Smith&Wesson, Mossberg, Ruger, and the obligatory furriner CZ.
in the form of 1911, model 15, 500, P89, SR762, Scout, and 83
There would be more, but, I sold 'em. At a loss. When I was short on cash. Yeah, that's it.

Lester the Landsear will sound the alarm and then the Walther P99 comes out.
-
Gaston's 23 and Saiga's 12
-
Five Seven, Ruger SR9 and a couple of S&W M&P's strategically located to get to the Winchester 94 or MagTac AR. I really need to get that Stoger coach gun out from underneath all of the junk piled up in the closet....
The boys keep the AK's and Remington 1100's in their room.
All of that is after they trip on about a 1/2 dozen dadgummed lap dog Papillons the wife keeps inn the house.
-
The building I live in was built in 1805.
If there's a bump in the night I'm more likely to reach for holy water than a gun.
I make my own.
It's easy.
You just boil the hell out of it. ;D
-
Of Ghoulies, and Ghosties, and long legged Beasties, and things that go bump in the night, O Lord protect me
and if that doesn't work... I'll see if the old adage, that the sound of racking the slide of an 870 causes a change in what I hear...
-
Mr SIG or Mr S&W or Mr Glock depending which room in the house I am in.

While that is true it would be rather hard to conceal from casual observation plus there is the tripping hazard.
-
Not to mention the hernia hazard from toting it around ;D

A Czech family and a Swedish family: Josef and František Koucký (http://www.exurbanleague.com/misfires/2014/02/04/gun-just-works/) and O.F. Mossberg & Sons (http://www.exurbanleague.com/misfires/2012/12/14/product-review-ati-akita-adjustable-stock/). :D
