For a friend:
100 new, Winchester brand .308 brass casings.
Must be new, never fired.
None of the usual places have Winchester brand brass in stock.
Thanks,
Peg

I thought sure I did, but it turns out it's all once used R-P stuff. I'll dig some more and check at Adven Outdoors if I get a chance. What's your time frame on this project? Don't know when I'm going to get by there next.
-
No set time frame..... I guess it depends on which one of us finds a vendor with Winchester brass.
It is for load development for competition rounds and the guy is trying to eliminate any possible potential variables, and since more than one person might be firing the rounds, there is (in his opinion) some liability attached in using pre-fired brass.
Thanks, Alf.

Went by Adventure Outdoors today and all they have is Federal Brass.
I'll be at a gun show tomorrow. It's small, but I will check there. He will to go $25? I think that's the ballpark price.

Why win brass and not something else?
Norma, lupa, and many others make great,if not better stuff.

If they have it, yes.

TAB, I guess it's like the old Ford/Chevy/Dodge thing..... his most accurate loads use Win brass. Benchrest and long-range guys are quite ticky, I've noticed. I know some prefer certain brass simply because of the lower potential for dimensional deviation in primer pockets and flash holes.

Sorry, Chuck. No luck today. Maybe try Bass Pro. Isn't there one down your way? And wasn't there a big outdoor store in Tifton right off I75?

Not in Tifton......... There's a Bass Pro in Macon, about 100 miles north. There is a Gander Mountain in Albany (40 mi) and Valdosta (50 mi), as well as an Academy Sports in Valdosta.
We have to take my b-i-l to to Valdosta Tuesday for a consultation with a pulmonary surgeon, so I might have the opportunity to check those places if time permits.
Thanks for taking the time to look.
Funny how Win brass is nowhere to be found in .308. My friend who is needing it works part time at Whidden Gun Works (Owned by John Whidden, winner of multiple Camp Perry matches) and they have multiple contacts in the industry looking, to no avail. Every vendor is out and many won't even allow backorders on the .308....and the one that will backorder, can't give an approximation of availability.

I may have a bag at home. Sadly, I haven't set up my reloading bench since I moved. But I know I have 4-5 unopened bags of .308 brass. I may just have Winchester. I'll get back to you.

Thanks, JC.

Peg! I did in fact have a bag. Unopened Winchester .308 Brass. Unfortunately it's only 50 rd pack, but it's a start. PM me an address and I'll get it sent.

No longer in search of brass.
A special thank you to JC5123 for sending 50 pieces toward the cause.
(Another friend found 50 pieces elsewhere, so the need has been fulfilled)
Thanks to others who looked..... it means a lot that you took the time to do so.

No worries! As I said, you guys are better friends than I deserve, and let's face it, this place has been good to me! I was glad to help out.
