First I apologize, Tivo did not record SG, but I manually set it to record the late night show.
1st. G&A had a tribute to Bill Jordan, short and sweet but one of my true heroes.. If you guys and gals are good, I'll photograph what he wrote in my copy of " No second place winner " It will probably be buried with me.
2nd, American rifleman does a 3 gun Primer, with one of my friends that up to now, I have protected his identity, James Darst of team DPMS, showing some tips to Bryce Townsley on Shotgun. Good job James. 8)
3rd, Cowboys behind the Jersey LIlly, but was that M'Lette near the end in the camera? Since I've never met her FTF, I can't be sure, but I think so. :-*
After a very rough day, this was welcome. ;D
By the way, Tivo did not record pompadour hair either, and I did not manually set it to record it later. ;)

Got to love Wednesdays!! Your right on all counts. Now all we need is, Best Defense. ;D

It's coming...it's coming...
I'm really excited about SHOOTING GALLERY 2009, too...I've just finished an overhaul of the show and how we're presenting, and I think it's pretty cool. For example, on the STEEL CHALLENGE we're for the first time focusing on the flashy side matches and...women's production class. And, yes, we're working with Squibby again.
Tupelo's really settling in as COWBOY'S host and I like the new focus on shooting in the show.
Be interesting to have a co-host on TBD...I thought from the beginning that was the way to go...hosting is a tough job (Tupelo, who has huge movie and television credits, including leno, says hosting is the hardest thing he's ever donw), so it's hard to find the right person...we will, though...
THANKS FOR WATCHING, and for the kind words...

I cant get any of these shows with my cable package! :'(

I don't get the digs againist Jim Scoutten and his shows. Although I like MB and his shows, JS was on way before him. He pioneered the pure gun shows and does a fine job in 2008. I think in some respects better and with more ability to draw in non-shooters than SG. Same goes for Tom Gresham. Each of these hosts have their weak and strong points. They all contribute to a positive view of the gun community and I like that.

<sigh>I wish our Cable company offered Outdoor Channel in our area. </sigh> :'(
All I get is some hunting on ESPN2. I've never hunted anything bigger than rabbits, but I wish we had some Elk around Disneyland! Do you think they'd let me bowhunt on Tom Sawyer's Island? The movie, Bambi, is pretty anti-hunting.

1776rebel, I apologize as I am the most vocal about Jim, I liked shooting USA as it was the only thing out there at the time, but it is so commercial and hokey, but I still watch it, the things I like best are impossible shots and the Army blue team guys, but that is maybe 5 minutes of the show, Jim comes across as a salesman, and his son too, I know Michael Bane is a SHOOTER, I don't buy that with Jim, his forte is an announcer, hence the professional voice. Before shooting USA, he also announced car racing and such, just a guess, but I don't think Michael will go there for his living..
I don't want SUSA to go off the air, but I much prefer SG, and I hope the new Best defense is a great show ( with the advisors on hand I don't know how it couldn't be), which I have no doubt I will enjoy..
I would love to have 10 shows an hour long to watch on any given night about shooting, but that is out of my hands. I do think Jim gets more air time than He should, and that's why I started a previous thread.
Most everyone but Shooting Gallery, go's back and forth between subjects like a magazine, SG sticks with one subject through the whole show, ( More info ) about 1 thing, better in my view than 3 minutes to wet your appetite, but next week may not have the answer. Kind of like cliffhanger shows, " stay tuned in for next weeks exciting conclusion!!!! "
I did like Tom Greshams show and miss it, it did stick as well to one subject for most of the show.

Shooting Gallery and Cowboys are what got me hooked on Wednesday nights at the range.
I watch all the shows but the biggest yawn of the night is Guns & Ammo TV. No offense meant, but those guys (Boddington and James) are boring and stiff. Kind of like cardboard cutouts with tape recorders velcroed to their backs.
AR TV and Shooting USA are OK, but SG and Cowboys are the meat and taters of wednesdays....JMO... 8)

M25, no need to apologize. I like all these guys. Only thing is all these guys have such big ego's it almost ruins the fun...They are all out there to make money. Nobody is doing it for charity purposes.
When I was a kid I remember waiting for an Outdoor Life or F&S to come in the mail. Pop it open and read Jack or Elmer or the first Colonel (Whelan not Copper or Askins). Once a month was way too infrequent. There was nothing on TV except for maybe a Bill Burrud adventure where there was some gun handling...

Then came American Sportsman on ABC and I was in heaven. So for what its worth I ain't kicking anyone out of bed ... :)

As for Gresham's show, its moved to the Sportsman Channel (big Intermedia deal moving "their" shows to their network).
