Well, in all of my thinking, talking and practicing regarding what gun to carry concealed, best way to carry, fastest way to draw, etc, etc. this circumstance never came to mind, ENJOY! (At my expense.)
Today I entered a large "home improvement" store to purchase some plumbing parts. As usual I had my Ruger SP101 .357 in my IWB holster worn in the small of the back position, commonly covered by my t-shirt. In this carry method only the grip of the revolver is exposed and this of course is covered by the aforementioned T-shirt. So, I rounded the corner to the plumbing aisle and felt something on my left shoulder under my T-shirt, I naturally swatted at it and then the fun began! Whatever it was bit and/or stung me on the left shoulder and when the zing hit I tried lifting my sleeve to eject the offender and felt him move to my back, at this point fearing another shot of zippidy do da, without thinking I tore my shirt off over my head and stood in the middle of the aisle in the plumbing section with, yep you guessed it Mr. SP101 hanging out for all to see. Didn't think about it at all. Three folks were in the aisle and fortunately no one noticed or said a word if they did. I used to be a cop so maybe I still have that look and no one thought otherwise. The worst of it was I replaced my shirt quickly when I realized what had happened and Mr. Bee was still residing inside. Nevertheless, I took two more shots before I expelled him from underneath. The employee standing nearby looked at me and actually saw the bee flying away! OUCH! Never thought that scenario through! Good luck boys! Any defense options for bees?

Yeah! BEE faster! ;D

LOL.
Well the best thing I say in this situation is that you are lucky you are not allergic. The whole mess of having the .357 in the waist of your pants at the hospital could have become a much longer story. Thanks for the share.

Hey, at least it wasn't my pants!

If you would have been in the Lawn & Garden section instead of the plumbing, you could have grabbed a .50 caliber flying insect killer can and let it rip. ;D
Sorry for the sting.
I got hit 42 times by yellow jackets on a bush hog, had to jump in the pond to make it stop.
-
Well I'll have to work that into my next personal defense match scenario with appropriately Bee sizzzzed targets. ;D
Sucked to be you when that happened, glad it worked out. ;)

Try to stay focused on center mass! ;D

Not really concealed carry but when I was riding my bike several years ago in nice warm weather, zipper of my leathers open a bit and yes,... "zoom zoom zoom", a nice big yellow-black bee flew in and of course "STING..."
Made my first and only ever stoppie right there. (http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/sprachlos/speechless-smiley-038.gif)

I would think another problem with "small of the back" CCW would be plumber's crack...especially in the Home Depot or Lowe's.

I am NOT pro-lawsuit, but around here, any injury to a customer, cat scratch, fall, wrist sprain, insect sting, must be reported by store employees and an automatic payment of $2500.00 is issued if the customer signes an agreement not to sue. Happened to my supervisor (so sorry ;)) who got cat scratched at a Raleigh orange Big Box. He just wanted $250 for medical stuff, shots, etc. Nope, take the check and sign here. He made a downpayment on a new pickup.
I hate store beez.
Mac.

Hey, at least it wasn't my pants!
While out on my Harley, I had one hit the back of my shirt collar and crawl down my back and then ... head south to the crack of my ____. I was able to get home, park my bike and get my boots and pants off to have this big hairy bee make a dramatic "flop" on my floor. My wife still laughs at that one.

It's a good thing he didn't get behind your holster. Trying to reach behind it or swat at it.. very well might have drawn attention. :o
