Title: Cuba & Castro
Post by: Rastus on August 16, 2015, 07:09:54 AM
Am I missing something about the normalization with Cuba?  What is up with this intense visceral liberal need to capitulate?  This entire administration is just sickening in it's direction and breathtaking in its' ability to dismantle the USA.

I never saw the point of  the embargo any way.
What was the point of not doing business with communist Cuba when it was American wheat supplies to Russia that kept the whole communist world alive ?
If American farmers had not supplied America's foe during the entire cold war the USSR could not have subsidized Cuba.

Tom you do have a good point.

Maybe some of it was too protect the sugar cane and rice farmers along the Gulf Coast.  And then, some of it was to repatriate $$$ lost in Cuba...of which none of that will come to pass I'm sure.

Ditto..

Another thought is purely propaganda, in that they wanted a foreign policy "win" to hang their hat on, that, I suppose, they don't think that we can figure out that requires exactly zero effort on their (our Admin's) part..
How much negotiation do they think we're supposed to assume it took for convince for Cuba to allow us to move back into our Embassy and reopen trade and normalize relations with them?
Kinda like that whole "stupid" view of "Liberal" on display again, I think.. (But who am I to judge. I think Trump is a symptom of the cancer on the collective mind of the "conservative" masses..)

I'm leery of Trump, but he is something the pussy Republicans haven't had for decades, a guy who says what he thinks and f*ck you.
