Title: Saddleback, CA. Obama and McCain
Post by: twyacht on August 16, 2008, 08:29:23 PM
Watching the Q&A on FOX hosted by the Mega Church Pastor Rick Warren; He did not ask softball questions.
Quick Synopsis, Obama was BORING, stuttering his way through the textbook scripted liberal response.
McCain at least sounds Presidential. Did not stutter, and did not waiver in his view.
McCain was asked his most "gut wrenching" decision in his life, He answered the chance to leave the "Hanoi Hilton" early if he confessed to war crimes against the North Viet. and declined.
Strip away the man he is now, with the man he was than, and he was an American. For that, he has my respect.
A whole heck of a lot more than Barack could ever have.
I hope you can watch it or catch segments on the Web somewhere. It was refreshing not to here MSM "softball" questions.
Are both of them flawed and ideal? Yes. The days of a "good" politician are long, long, long, gone. But McCain, despite his faults, is the best we have.
Just my .02 cents .

I second that McCain has earned my respect. Obama doesn't deserve any respect in my opinion.

My studies in school were to behavior modification ... I know from a clinical perspective how to change or influence one’s way of thought. To endure ONE HOUR much less FIVE PLUS YEARS of such treatment as what McCain went through … is beyond what anyone can comprehend. John S. McCain … despite my reservations on his past … he has my sincere respect for what he went through in Hanoi.
As I write this, I am listening to Obama speak. I can’t see how anyone capable of feeding themselves would vote for this guy. In terms of national security, fiscal policy, or common ____ sense … Obama is a toad. Sure, he speaks well with a teleprompter. But without the "electronic “cheat”, he is about as useful as teats on a man. Do we really want this “empty suit” as our President?

NOBama talks the talk but has never, and will never, walk the walk.

Nobama is a show pony. To my knowlege he has never managed the finances of any institution or business, he has never RUN a business, he has never served in any emergency capacity such as EMS or fire service, has no military service, has never commanded men and women in problem situations. I could be wrong, but I don't think he's ever even coached a kid's basketball or t-ball team. AND he certainly was devoid of accomplishment in two years in the Senate.
He has no business running for president, and our mainstream media should turn in their press credentials because of the way they have bought into this whole smoke and mirrors act.
Although, I have to say, they just MIGHT turn on him...you know how they are.
We simply cannot have him as president. But I believe that when it comes time to hit the lever, a lot of people who are star-glazed now will think, "Wait a minute, this is serious"....and hopefully they'll pull the McCain lever. He's just THAT scary.

A couple of points about last night:
----->I love how Obama tried to punt on the abortion question and at what point life begins.... He said "answering that question with specificity, you know, is above my pay grade" ??? WTF! He is applying for the highest job in the land!
CNN Video on Obama and abortion (him lying about his stance):
----->I also like how he tried to make the case that he would not have appointed Justice Thomas because of his lack of experience..... Isnt that the Pot calling the kettle Black (No racial undertones intended - Love ya M'ette).
Quote
“I don’t think that he was exp– a strong enough jurist or legal thinker at the time for that elevation.”
-----> I also dont think that Obama's definition of marriage is going to go over very well with most of the far left.
-----> McCain surprised me. He had the 'fire in the belly' and looked very presidential. Yes, he had a great home field advantage over Obama, but he still had a strong showing.

+1...He just hasn't said the right thing YET for them to turn on him.....we can only hope.

One question I would have loved to hear was, How could you vote and be against the Death Penalty but remain Pro-Choice.?
You can't support killing a killer, but the death of a viable human life is expendable,....

I was talking to this "liberal woman..and I said something similar.. She relied " .. and I will see if I can remember it all.........
He was talking about experience with the law and constitutional law in particular. Obama has served more elected time than Hillary Clinton for that matter. He also worked with churches and local organizations in Chicago to improve neighborhoods. He also taught law at Chicago University. At least Obama didn't use catch phrases from his campaign to pander to the audience. But he can think in his own words, not parrot what has been written for him.
She spouted off that I needed to KNOW my facts~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grrrrrrrrr..

How about HER candidate "knowing his facts"? His statement that the number of abortions isn't less since Bush took office is, according to the commentators who were discussing the performance following the forum, patently untrue.

You know.. I can go toe to toe with a liberal and walk away so mad inside.. They choose to just not see except through their rose colored glasses that all is wonderful if we just hold hands and give away our soul.
( Maybe I am just as bullheaded on the other side of the fence.) ::)l

............ But he can think in his own words,...............
Ah, yes like the 60 states. (57 plus one to go, and Alaska and Hawaii. Or was he thinking the 57 Isalmic States?) Or the "big bomb" dropped on Pearl Harbor. Or the 10,000 killed in Kansas when it was only 12. Or the the geographical orientation that makes Arkansas closer to Kentucky than Illinois.
See Michelle Malkin for a list of how well he speaks in his own words. http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=MWZjY2YzZWVkMjdkMDEzMGQ0MjJkNTUyN2FkNmMzYTc= (http://article.nationalreview.com/?q=MWZjY2YzZWVkMjdkMDEzMGQ0MjJkNTUyN2FkNmMzYTc=)

Yes, you are, with one difference. Your position is supported by FACTS, REALITY , and HISTORY.

One question I would have loved to hear was, How could you vote and be against the Death Penalty but remain Pro-Choice.?

Thats simple:
Death penalty----------->Those bleeding heart idiots are head over heals in love with the idea of "reformative justice". They seriously believe that you can reform murderers, rapists, child molesters, gang bangers, and other violent criminals and turn them back into productive members of society....... The statistics prove otherwise....... but why would they start looking at statistics now?
Abortion--------------> Well, thats because of the extreme womans rights component of the Dem party. The whole "its my body" argument has been so firmly entrenched into their play book that it is now just a given........ You cant even make the case to those fools that it has nothing to do with their body, but rather everything to do with the baby that is in their body. Hell,
Obama even said that he supports Roe v. Wade because "women don't make these decisions lightly"

Hard to believe CNN put out something that shows Obama in a negative light.
