Wow. Oh Wow. Talk about a country club. No more like a resort. All built by CMP with CMP money. I heard $23million worth.
Miss Kitty's first comment as we driving to the range, "Where's the dirt road." It's paved all the way. It's a paved parking lot. Looks like a resort hotel lobby. And don't look for it on Google aerial photos, it's that new.

You can find them on Facebook. Besides the all electronic rifle ranges. High Power rifle ranges. There are standard Bullseye range and 15 Action pistol ranges. Each about 50' wide and 150' deep. Just wow.
Here's some pictures, including the gun store.

And, of course, we need a gun shop.

Entering the AP bays.

Here's one of the 15 AP bays. Gravel road where I'm standing for vehicular traffic and foot path down by the cover (each with picnic tables) for pedestrians.

Looking from bay 4 towards the other 11 bays and the main entrance to the area.

Leaving. The entry DRIVEWAY as well as each range area is gated. Non match days you check in with the front desk (la-de-da) to get the day's codes.

Neat!...is there a bar?
-
Bick is on the right track, all it needs is food and beverages.
-
Any nice Garand's in that shop?
-
Looks like a lot of available property across the street.
Maybe just the place for a Firearms oriented community to take roots.
Yeah, there is always the noise of folks shooting and that will drive ya crazy if you can't get away to go over there too.
Maybe closed circuit TV of the active ranges will ease the pain....or make it worse...
Put the eating and drinking establishments within the community and not burden the range managers with Board of Health and licensing headaches.
-
I saw a story on this on one of the OC Wednesday night shows..... they said in the story that the CMP is possibly planning to build another one like it in the mid-west somewhere.
-
Ought to be a couple of these in every state.
And especially one near me!

Maybe, just maybe, they'd like to host next year's ICORE nationals.
-
I think they need to build similar sites all across the US with different themes and condos. 8)

"Shooting Resorts"......... good idea...... they could have package family deals, even for beginners...let the whole family learn the sport together.

And after the election we can turn them into FEMA camps for liberals.
They'll HATE it ! ;D

I'm afraid to ask at what yardage you would place their housing?
-
Actually I was thinking of making them learn to shoot, reload, and generally take care of themselves.
Although You COULD build the camp with barbwire on 3 sides and the open border to the rear.
Then, every morning you could shoot a few of the ones to lazy to escape, as the French say, "to encourage the others".

Face of guilt here.. It's not far from here and the last time I rode that way, it was "the future home of"..
I'll get there.. Not as much fun to go explore that kind of thing without the wife, (though she often doesn't share my enthusiasm).. She's on her way to being a better shot than me but I'm having a hard time getting her to move, as though she might actually be in trouble and need to maybe both depart a situation and use a firearm in the process..
For the little practice I've been able to get with her, she's doing fine, at least putting holes in the paper.. No complaints here.. Somehow I doubt this facility would be much of a motivator on that front.
