Title: 5.56 M855 Ammo
Post by: alfsauve on March 12, 2016, 08:47:40 AM
I know you can get steel case and Tula ammo, cheaper but I thought the latest deal from AIM Surplus was a good buy.

IMI M855 62gr for $0.343/ea.   Picked up a case.  With shipping came up to $0.38.  Beats to sixty cents a piece I paid for 80 rounds at the local store.

This is good stuff! IMI loads it nice and hot. I like that it comes 30 rounds to the box, and 1,200 rounds to the case. I picked up a couple of cases from Widener's a while back. It was priced sky high after they threatened to ban it. It's good to see that it's coming back down. ($449.00 for a 1,200 round case). IMHO this is the best M-855 out there.

It's better ammo for an AR than the East bloc stuff.
Tula, Wolf and some of the others cause jams because of the lube they use.

When they went with polymer and you chamber hot and leave it sometimes there be problems.
