I bought another gun. This time a Para-USA Elite Commander. Just looking for something that doesn't poke me in the hip all the time. I know Freedom Group/Remington killed the brand. It is a 1911 after all. I pick it up tomorrow.
She was angry enough that she left the house yesterday morning, said she was going to #1 son's house for Easter. He lives 3+ hours away. Sent a text earlier asking if I should leave the outside lights on. No answer. I'm sure she'll get over it.

They're a good looking gun. http://www.para-usa.com/2013/firearms/elite/commander.php

She probably was planning on heading that way anyway.... :o

She did know March is Buy Your Spouse A Gun month?

mine learned very early on, don't ask what I spend on stuff, I won't ask what you spend on stuff.
she use to freak out when I would buy tools for work or build a new motor for the boat.
never had her complain about a new gun in the safe, but for awhile I was hiding boats at friends houses ;)

my war dept has an attention span and memory of a squirrel. I just tell her I've had all these guns the whole time.. what are you talking about, never seen them before? sheeeeshhh besides, when have I had the time to go out and buy guns????? ;)
-
I'm blessed! Mine often encourages me to buy them, asks for her own, or surprises me with it.
-
She came home late this afternoon, just after I got home from work. Not speaking to me yet. And that is not necessarily a bad thing.
-
it will either be fine, or it won't. that's just how I look at things these days.
its not my way or the highway, but if you don't trust me, then its done. not that I have to worry about that with my wife. infact I would trust any forum member to sleep with her( actually sleep not bang) I know nothing will happen. then again did I mention I have 3 safes worth of guns, a suppressor and have a full auto ar seer waiting on approval ;D
-
You also mentioned she's a doctor with ridiculous hours.
Most likely she's out cold any time she leaves the vertical.
-
Getting out of ca changed all that, she works 3 10s a week now+ -1 24 hour on call(which can over lap with a shift)
Granted she misses shirners, but she also can't complain about the cost of living here.

I just ordered a new Browning Buckmark Hunter this morning. The first thing she asked is when can we shoot it! (The Bounty Hunter is too heavy for her). ;D

Mine came with me for the last purchase, a SW 929, and now of course I'm on a quest to help her find "her" gun. Probably first Monday in June, when school is out, we'll go to the range and starting trying them out.
Lately, I've pared down the collection to those I shoot... a lot. I'm pretty set. Till that Kimber revolver hits the shelves.
