Title: Why aren't we slipping pro gun legislation into spending bills?
Post by: Ulmus on June 01, 2016, 09:58:21 PM
I don't get it.  Why is this not happening?  We all know that the bills are going to pass wither we like them or not; Why not get something for it?

It can still be done.  The next big "feel good" bill that comes up that you just know is going to pass, stick in a pro-gun amendment.

Gay marriage - No tax stamp for silencers.
Obama care - Repeal of Gun control law of 68.
TRRP - Make out of state handgun sales legal nation wide and have all surplus firearms legal for importation.
So on and so on.

We should have had someone in the House and Senate pushing this stuff decades ago.  Why is this not happening?

I'm glad you like the idea.  Now who is in office that we can have initiate this?

This is exactly how we were able to get concealed carry on national parks.  They stuck it to a bill that POSUS wouldn't veto!

Who are the guys who get the NRA's A rating?  Those are the ones we should approach.

Yes "we" do sometimes, but the main reason conservatives don't do this is it goes against our beliefs.  Laws should be passed straight up and for what they are.  We don't like to sneak around to get things done.

Lot's of generalizations, but I think that's the essence of it.

This goes to my other threat on reading The Art Of War.  It is possible to maintain our principles and follow the intent of our Founders, but we need to be wise to what is being done to us.  We can stop them and get things corrected without sinking to their level.

I personally see it as sinking to their level, but more of fighting fire with fire.
