Sorry. Just trying to have a little fun. Hope I didn't go too far. :-[

We'll get over it.....but for a moment or two it looked like it might be tough doing so....
You are still "new" here and perhaps haven't gained a sense of "Family" with many of the rest of us....but it will happen if to you too after awhile hanging around here...
I've know Alf for just over 8 years...with close to daily contact...glimpses of his life, family, his views and beliefs, his thought about firearms and other stuff, what he does on his job, what his son does....and every day, even if I don't think specifically of Alf, I am aware that I will soon be hearing something from Alf and am anticipating that moment....
For a short time....probably less than a minute, actually, I feared that was all over...gone forever...I know it will be sometime...sooner or later...but I didn't want it to be today.....
You owe us all a beer now ;D ;D ;D
Take care :D :D :D

I now regret my decision but will pay up with the beer when we meet. :(

The only way you could go too far around here is to shoot one of us ... and miss center mass ;)
Or, inappropriate use of the "C" word >:(

And cats. ;)
He does mention Miss Kitty a lot...

I am so touched. Thanks guys. Darn allergies.
There's just so much happening right now I haven't had chance to respond to it all. I meant to say something cute about Michu Meszaros, ALF actor, but hadn't got around to it. The ALF notoriety has served me well over the last 20 or so years.
Below is a picture of me at work. Seriously, I am a video engineer these days. It is quite appropriate.

GOD, that just scared the $h!t out of me!

On a positive note we have a new Sr. Pastor, who has some of the staff scared for their jobs, but he's promised to take me deer hunting the fall.
I posted this on FB just now
Just curious. How many people on the no-fly/terrorist list have committed murder? My understanding is real terrorists aren't put on the list because then they would know they're being watched. I detect a red herring here.
Guess who was one of the first "likes"? The new pastor's wife.
I'm gonna like my last couple of years here before I retire. ;)

Yeah. What Bill & the guys said. Sucked the wind outta me.

My brother is a Senior Pastor an few hours from where I live and he sent me a pic of his new G19 Gen 4 last night. He said he can't wait to preach while he is carrying :D
BTW his church is starting their very own IDPA Team.... ;D ;D
-
Magoo,
I might have to move to where your brother lives.
-
I live on the other coast just south of Portland, OR. He lives a little North. He has been consulting me about shooting competition for the last few months. He's my youngest brother, 'nuff said ;D
My dad is taking the two of us out bottom fishing next weekend, so we will talk guns and IDPA some more. I may have to take up IDPA, my local USPSA club just isn't fun anymore (too many cliques ::) )

Nice part of the world, Oregon!
I made the five hour drive from Ferndale, CA to Coos Bay, OR on the 101, at night...drinking beer..
Didn't realize at the time that some of the roadway is about five inches from oblivion... Kids do stupid things... That was 1977...we were much more careful going back to the base on the return trip!

I think we all had a few of those drives, in cars with load stereos, bad brakes and leaky gas tanks ;D

I used to drive from Cincinnati to Fort Knox and return trip on leave during Basic and AIT in a 1956 Ford.
I would fill the gas tank, radiator and oil at the start. Drove as close to 80 as the roads allowed and when I arrived at the gas station outside Ft. Know, all three were low. I was in awe looking at the headers glowing bright orange/red when the hood was up.

I think it was a Duster... Icky green, slant six, maybe '73..

Went to annual rifle qauls in a 65 Fury with no floor boards.
That REALLY suced on TAINY days !

My story features a 1961 Triumph TR-3. Soft top. Nearly opaque driver and passenger window panels. Really bad lower windshield gasket. When it rained, buckets of water would funnel under that windshield and onto the lap of driver and/or passenger. Additional water would blow in from the window sliders. Even more water would come in around the rear vinyl window. When the sun finally came out, the mildew bloom would overwhelm. Only solution was to remove the top and drive uncovered for about a week.
On my honeymoon, the coil crapped out. Put in a new standard coil not realizing the ones meant for TR-3s had a built-in ballast resistor. Managed to burn up three sets of points in the 200 mile drive home.
Then, heading to the Long Beach Naval Base from housing in San Pedro, one of the long bolts holding the radiator fan in place managed to un-turn and machined a perfectly round hole through the center of the radiator.
Driving that car was a daily challenge to ingenuity and to wallet.
I still miss it.
