Title: went by the local toy store....
Post by: TAB on July 07, 2016, 03:51:05 PM
the place was packed.   all I wanted was some 22 shot for  a wood pecker going into my attic.

every one is scared as hell hrc will be elected. 1st time ever they had zero ARs in stock,  normally they would have at least 20.   forget about 30 round mags.

No AR's or 20 or 30 Rd mags at Big 5. Still some rifles in stock at my two local stores. I'm of the belief that AR mags are best bought online, and in Quality & Quantity. I'm actually an oddball. I resisted getting a 5.56/.223 one because I've had a Stainless Mini-14 with an ATI stock since 1992, and recently got a 300AAC chambered one as a gift(Thanks Sis & BIL!!). I Finally bit on one of these new bare units( only took someone this long to come out with these for the "income restricted") thru my FFL who's "Armament specialist" is completing the work...so in expectation of that, I got 20 assd. Mags, a bi pod, 2 optics to try, the one I don't like I will either  sell or put in something else, both Bushnell, a 1-4x24 with a quick refocus lever, and a 2X Prismatic. I just don't ever see myself shooting Prone or CQB with a 16" tube. Only my other two AR's(Pistol Caliber) have a 16"' and the AR Pistol has a 10".....may change that scope to a 1-6 because of the longer barrel

Try CDNN if you're looking for 30 round AR-15 mags. They've got a ton.

For AR-15's

Magpul pmags may be in short supply on the street but I've found some online.
Ammo To Go has the Magpul PMAG AR-15 Magazine - 223 Rem 30 Round - Black - Gen M2 MOE for $11.95 and Gen 3 for $14.95 each.
Wideners has Magpul PMAG AR-15 Magazine - 223 Rem 30 Round - Black - Gen M2 MOE for $12 each...better hurry.
Palmetto State Armory has D&H 5.56 30RD ALUMINUM MAGS at $9 each...100 to the box.
Natchez Shooters Supply has plenty of everything except pmags.
Graf and Sons has pmags.
Brownells has pmags.

Whilst doing all of this I checked www.the-armory.com  I bought 5 pmags.  Tells you where I found the best price...Wolf Gold .223 for $296/1000 too...and Armscor 22 LR hollow points $39.90 to $37.90 a brick depending on how many you order.....  Usually I default to Palmetto State but The Armory has it going on right now....

OK...adding this at 7:40 my time from www.unammo.com (http://www.unammo.com)

9MM Special: SPEER factory blemish ammo we are selling cheap. 1000 Rounds of 124 Grain FMJ. It is packed Bulk in a Plano Ammo can. $185.00 per 1000 rounds. Absolutely will function fine. This is new production factory ammo. The brass cases may have discoloration markings on some of the cases.

$185.00  DO YOU SEE THAT PRICE?

Man Venture Outpost is showing 30 round P-Mags, with 194 currently in stock as I type this. (They update stock hourly). They're getting $12.99 each for them. They were just $9.98 a couple of days ago.

PSA is currently showing "Temporarily Out Of Stock" on the D&H 30's.
The only two items they show in stock period are black P-Mag 30's and AR47 mags....everything else is gone, gone, gone for now.

Right now, AR's are in supply and still for good prices in my area. One guy had a special last week for $550 OTD.

I expect the closer we get to the election, the crappier the supply will be on any EBR stuff.....which is why I went ahead and ordered a full AR pistol kit ($350 OTD for everything but the hand-guard) to go on a lone stripped lower I had just laying about from last year.
I might pick up a couple more lowers as well.

As a side note, wally world had Federal American Eagle 5.56 ammo the other day for $7.50 a box, which is about as cheap as they have been in a couple years. The steel case stuff was around $5 and change.

I called my gun pimp last week to buy a couple lowers, stripped.  Told me I missed the rush by 3 weeks, all his suppliers are currently sold out.

On a positive note I won a certificate for a pistol..   ;D

Went Fourth Armory in Marietta to ship a gun yesterday.  They have plenty of stripped uppers and lowers. Of course they're not a big store and the general masses don't know about them.

Christ, the election is still over 4 months away.

The Portsmouth NH Sons of Liberty cleaned out Ft William and Mary 5 months before the revolution.

Oh, you can find stripped lowers around here, at $150 a pop for a Rock River etc.  I was hoping for one of the $60 lowers, like Anderson and a couple of others.   8)

Joe Bob Outfitters has Anderson Manufacturing stripped lowers for just $54.95 IN STOCK. But you better jump on them. They're currently advertising 24 hour shipping.
