Title: Glock Hat = No Problem
Post by: Blank on August 27, 2008, 08:46:51 PM
Today I was sporting my new Team Glock hat with new tan shirt one size over for gun room.

I was packing a Ruger .380 in my back pocket and Glock 357 Sig on my hip.

I dropped off the wife and was heading home on the Interstate. When two guy in small car changed lanes into my lane of traffic.

The driver flipped ME the finger...

As they slowed down for me to pass...

I was working on how best to handel this problem without going for the 357 Sig on my hip.

Then I remembered I had the Team Glock Hat on.

As I pass the two guys they were getting mad for some reason...

Then the driver got a good look at me and the Team Glock hat I was wearing.

They stopped the finger stuff and the mad act then took the next exit off the interstate.

I though that was nice of them...

Now, I don't have to show them what a old guy with a gun can do in three seconds.

Just thought I would pass it on...

I would NOT count on that ever happen again.

But, it did today.

Be glad you didn't have an SR9 and the matching hat. They would have beat you to death before you could have ever gotten a round off with the herculean pull required to set it off.

Ouch! :P

Glad road rage wasn't involved.  Bumper stickers work well too. Saw one that said: Glock is my co-pilot. 8)

I don't know guys........if you were wearing the retrofitted SR9 hat they would know that you weren't carrying an SR9 but probably something that really works well, and they'd back off. Assuming of course that they know what an SR9 IS....it was hyped up and around so briefly before it turned to complete s***, the bad guys might not even know what an SR9 is.

Yep, everyone know what a GLOCK is and what it's used for...

As always, it's me and Gaston from now on.  ;)

One of the first rules of packing a gun, that I learned in the old days.

Was not to look like you have gun.

No logos, no camo, no stickers, and don't look out of place.

No long or heavy coats in the summer time stuff like that...

Having a logo hat sure help me a lot today.

I guess the best way to use a SR9, is throw it at your attacker like in the movies when a gun runs out of ammo.... ;D

I never could figure that one out??

If bullets just bounce off of Superman, why does he duck when they throw the gun at him?  ???

Kind of alarming that you felt you needed to make that comment. Even if you meant it to be funny - it wasn't.
The flipped you off..... BFD
Remember from when you were a kid -  "sticks and stone may break my bones, but names will NEVER HURT me?"
Gestures count there too.

Do you really live or perform an act that requires you to have two firearms a all times? If you truly do, I'd look in to a new line of work, a change of lifestyle or location - just a thought.

Good luck in traffic today -

Baa...

I understand that a firearm is always a last resort, and I felt from the tone of the author that it would have been. However, guns fail, that is a simple matter of fact. It is always good to have a backup of some kind, be it a gun, knife, or self-defense training (or preferably all three). Sounds to me like he was just being a better boyscout...

Blank,

I had a friend who had the same kind of annoyance coming home from the range. He reached over and put on his hearing protection.
Sent the same message as you and got the same response.

Nice job.

I did not say that. YOU DID.

Let me guess on this one...

RTFM, You have never been in a fight in you whole life or have rob or mugged?

None of your family members have been raped and beat almost to death. Right?

You have never made a arrest in the line of duty? Have you?

Your life has been nothing but kids games your whole life? I am getting closer sweet heart?

I carry my guns for a DAM good reason.

God bless you! Good luck living in your bubble.

See you in traffic today. I be the one with the Team Glock hat on.

Drive friendly.

BTW: Why I posted Glock Hat = No Problem. Was to show that you don't always need you gun to avoid trouble.

When I read the title of the thread I thought it was going to be about a new way to conceal a pistol, and how it saved someone.  ;D
It was an interesting thread that I didn't think would lead to name-calling, but it looks like it's headed that direction.  :(

My wife used to have a manager harass her at work. Against her wishes, I went to visit her at work, wearing an HK MP5 t-shirt. This shirt has a very large image of a very recognizable sub-gun. He never even looked at her sideways again.

The manager was later fired for harassing another woman.

Sorry, to hear about your wife's problems at her work place. Happy things work out for you both.

Kinda like they say.. But, with but with a tee shirt instead...

LOL.  Some folks are wound a bit too tight and fail to see the humor.  It was not lost here, sir.  A round of Glock hats for my friends here. ;D

Speak softly and wear warning apparel. Kind of like fish that have warning stripes to let other fish know that attempting to eat them will be dangerous.

When that manager got canned for harassing another woman and had to go home and explain everything to his wife, he had a stroke. Maybe there is karma. It's sad that his kids had to have him as a dad. I worked for the guy 10 years before, and I remember that he was rooting for Iraq to kick our butt and he wanted some good scud hits on Israel. I think he was Lebanese. Someone posted a quote from T. Roosevelt in another thread about people who wish to become Americans needing to become completely American in every way and having sole loyalty to our country. Thinking of this loser really puts some extra ring to how true those words are.
