Living in Minnesota, being a Vikings fan, and remembering our greatest Coach - Bud Grant, I shake my head in disbelief and disgust. Coach Grant taught and included in every practice every part of the game - Including how to stand for the Anthem. While other teams stood all over, shuffled their feet, looked at the ground and around, the Vikings stood in a line along the sideline, with their feet together at the heels, helmets under the arm, and they looked to the Flag.
Colin has the Right to speak his mind, but this is a situation where he can lose his job for disruption and distraction. By the way, maybe he should quit whining about charges that are false, and start working to change the lives of those who are causing this (idiots who break the law and confront officers forcing them to make life and death decisions).

I also find it an amazing coincidence that he found this new socially-conscious awareness of the plight of oppressed minorities when he was in danger of losing his job because he sucks at football.

40 years ago he would have been booed of the field. And the NFL would have torn up his contract, and banned him for life. Today he's got teammates joining him. All standing in line to throw away millions in endorsements, thinking it's actually worth it. The beauty is when all of these dumb a$$holes are penniless in a few years, they'll then realize what stupid idiots they were for doing this.
This type of foolishness reminds me when the Chicago Bears won everything in 1985. It was reported in the Chicago press back then, quarterback Jim McMahon was turning down offers for $10,000.00 for 15 minute "meet and greet" sessions at major company Christmas parties that year. That's $10K in 1985 dollars for 15 minutes "work". Ask him now if he still would have turned them down. None of these idiots realize these opportunities don't last long. And when they're gone, they're gone forever. The clown today probably has a difficult time getting $5 bucks for an autograph.

As a veteran and a police officer I have been asked this very question about this subject. I told a nurse that was in charge of my newborn daughter. I was deployed and my unit got me home to see her two days later. The Dixie chicks made a bad statement and became the center of a crap storm. She asked me what I thought of them after she had been on a tirade for 20 minutes with several other nurses. I told her that I was a soldier and I paid for their right to free speech with blood sweat and tears. I have spent nights alone in foreign countries around the world. I missed births, deaths, and sweet moments, because of sacrifice. If I did not do my job they would be scared to use their precious free speech. They do not know how precious it is until they know the cost of it. They think that it was just another freebie perk. They did not know that places like Arlington and others like it was the cost. They do not know what it is like to hold someones hand and lie to them and tell them it will be alright. The medivac is on the way. So if they use it so be it but the crap storm they get from it they better have broad shoulders to bear it. If they want to know the cost I will introduce them to some of my friends they rest in a special place. His ignorance is easy to see because he was lied to by the liberal media. It is his choice and he deserves what he gets.
