Title: S&W question
Post by: tombogan03884 on October 06, 2016, 06:01:45 AM
What ever happened to the old concealment 9mm's , I know the ASP based on the model 39 was a custom , but what about the 669 based on the model 59 ? I know that was a production gun.

I'm mainly a revolver guy, so I had to look it up.

Roughly speaking for autoloaders the 2 digits, i.e., 59, were the 1st generation, 3 digits were 2nd gen and 4 digits are 3 gen.     I think they're pretty much all gone with the only vestige being the SD9/40 and of course the SW1911.    I don't think they have a true DA/SA in the catalog anymore.  Could be wrong.  Frequently am.

Yes, it went through several iterations, I think 6904 came after 669  but whatever became of the ccw metal models ?

If you want one of the SS frame guns you would have to order it through the Custom Shop.
