OK, so now that I am retired from the Army, I have started working for an armed security company. They have a lot of restrictions on what you are allowed to carry so I decided on and purchased a Glock Gen 4 G19 5.5 Talo. I have been looking around and asking questions but can't get any solid answers as to what is the most reliable with concistent performance. I have tried Hornady critical defense and am not impressed. So any input would be appreciated.
PS: please keep thread drift to a minimum (LOL).

I've shot a LOT of Speer Gold Dot. It's very good ammunition, and rated very well.
-
gold dot is still used by lots of LEA, its good stuff and works.
i carry them and golden sabres in my 45s. its only 10 mm that i don't carry them.( they don't make it)

Any of the "Name" brand 9mm hollowpoints will do the job,You just need to find what your Glock likes best.I carry Federal Hydrashoks in my.45 and .38/.357,But I carry Hornady Critical Defense 115grain FTX in my Ruger SR9c and Federal 115 grain +P+ hollowpoints in my Browning HiPower.

For the 9MM I like the Speer Gold Dots and the Hornady Critical Defense.
The Federal Guard Dogs should be pretty much perfected for the 9MM (I carry that in my 45's) but I haven't checked up on that....would be my 3rd choice after some research.

Speer, Federal, or Hornaday all shoot reliably from my Glock 27 in .40 cal. I'd be inclined to use any of them in a 9mm. Actually, the only time my Glock had a hiccough on any ammo was in it's youth (it's nearing 18, now) when I tried to feed it some Blazer. It just didn't like it.
For general range shooting, I use white box or Remington FMJ or reloads.
For daily carry, Speer Gold Dots.

I carry Federal HST 9mm 147 grn. Got them from Tactical Defense Solutions.com. The last price I saw was $29 for a box of 50 + s&h. They are located in New Hampshire and delivery to here in Texas usually takes about 7 days. They also carry SPEER and some others including 9mm +p+ if you like to hot rod it.
WOW.just went there and their cubard isn't bare but it is but it is a lot thinner since the last time I went.

My summer carry is a Glock 27 in .40 S&W. I have always carried Cor-Bon ammo. I have switched up and tried various weights, all in this brand, and all perform equally in both the reliability and accuracy department.
When I carry my 1911, it is also stoked with Cor-Bon.
I have tested many brands and varieties of ammo, and none function as well in my guns as the Cor-Bon JHP ammo.
I do not work for Cor-Bon, and this is nothing other than to say it is what has always worked 100% for me and my particular variables....YMMV
-
Some Cor-Bon loads are more powerful than other brands because they have higher velocity whether they're +P or standard. I believe they're loaded higher pressure but never go over maximum. Supposedly their strict quality control allows them to do that. The last ammo I bought was for a .45 and nothing else came close to the short barrel DPX for muzzle energy.

I carry Win. PDX1 (+P) in my G19 - sure rings a gong!

Thanks for the replies. Most of you have mentioned some Brands and selections I had not thought of. I will pick up a few boxes to try out and see what works the best.

Hornady Critical Defense is what makes up carry ammunition for all my carry guns. It must pass the test for each new gun, and it has. It has never failed for me yet.
