Two months ago my wife and I had to say farewell to our 11 year old Labrador Atticus. He had got to the point that he wouldn't even eat sliced roast beef and drink any water. We just could not stand to see him suffer any more. I cried like a young child for a couple of weeks and one day my wife sent me a text while I was at work not to be upset when I got home. She had gone to the Shelter and said this one had picked her when she went in. We were going to foster him for a few weeks but after 3 days I said we are going to adopt him. The shelter had named him Falcon but he looked like a Henry to me, after all it is a good name for rifles too. Having a beagle in the house is like having a 5 year old, you just wonder what they will do next. So far he has been a great companion and just a whole bunch of fun. ;D

I agree. He is a Henry, not a Falcon.

As I mentioned here a while ago, I lost my boy Chuey a year ago August. I got to share his life with him for about 11 years, also. It's a terrible thing to lose a buddy like that, like your pal, Atticus. I didn't/couldn't get another buddy--couldn't get past the emotion of it all. But, I am sure glad you did. There are so many talented, loving dogs that are waiting for their forever (or furever) homes. It sure looks like you got a handsome example of a beagle. Do me a favor and give him a Milk Bone (or equivalent) and tell him it's from The Rabbit.
Thanks,
Crusader Rabbit

Congratulations on the new addition to the family. Henry's a fine name.
