Someone needs to set up with a .22-250 about 100 yards away from his hole, and pop the little bastard as soon as he sticks his head out.

It's got nothing to do with his shadow, He has a calendar in his hole.

I have it on reasonable authority that groundhogs have no interest in predicting winter's extension. The little b@st@rds are just looking for a chance to "trim their horns." A full winter season is a long time to go without!

If it's that hot in winter then summer must be pure hell.

We ain't had much of a winter down south, just bad storms. We need some cold for the fruit and pecan trees to get some chill time. It's in the 70's today.
-
They're already doing maple syrup up here. No real cold, and not much snow, coupe inces every couple weeks is all so far. I may regret posting that, Feb and March are usually our real big snow months.

I wonder what movie I should watch tonight? Something with a cute, demure lady and maybe a crazy, goofy guy. What was the name of that movie? Oh it'll come to me.

Phil must be trans-species! Looks like a marmot to me....

58 right now. very nice actually

JumboFrank... yep... it gets a tad warm, but with air conditioning, I can tolerate the heat much better than no heat
-
When it gets too cold I can always put more clothes on but when it gets too hot I don't feel good. Sometimes I get a head ache or nauseous from the heat. At best I'm lethargic. I'll take 3 months of winter over year round heat any day. Come on 6 six weeks.

I much prefer cooler to warmer also. I feel better in cooler weather, and my electricity bill is lower because it costs me less to heat than to cool.
-
I heat with natural gas which is even cheaper than using electricity. That alone probably saves me $300 or more per year. When the furnace runs it's only for a few minutes at a time but when I turn on my 2 window air conditioners they run a lot more, sometimes all day. That sure drive up the electric bill.

I am with Frank. It is all I can do to not melt through our 6 weeks of Summer here, and the humidity is really low too. Over 70 and I am done, in hibernation, on an ice block. It was a nice -9 this morning, but has warmed up to 15 now. Sad thing is our snow really got going at least a month late, was a big wham that looked good, then petered out. We are only at 70% or so of normal. Not good for all you downstream folks, or us for that matter. Only six weeks?? Not unusual for an early June snow here. :D

I have always preferred winter to summer...fall being my favorite season.
But as I age, I am finding I do like it warmer than previously.
I now set the thermostat during the winter to 57 rather than 52 as I used to do.

Solus... mine is 68 for winter, 78 for summer

57 and 72.... What I might save in the winter, I spend in the summer....

My Arizona-residing-kid-sister pointed out the same thing.
If you're too cold, you can always add a sweater or a pair of gloves. But if you're too hot, once you take off the make-up and jewelry there's not much else to do.
Still, I'll go for too hot over too cold any day. I don't wear make-up and not much jewelry. But a cold brew can certainly help make life tolerable.
